Verena waits for The creatures next attack and dodges it at The Last second, swinging her Sword downwards at his neck with all her Strenght as it runs past her.
Ard tried to judge where his help was needed most. He was also weary where Imlerith was, there was no way the brute wasn't part of this coup.
"I agree, the navigator is trouble. The last thing we need is for some of us to get sent to another world." Varrin agreed. “You think you could interrupt whatever he's doing with a spell, sis? I doubt I would get to him quickly enough, and I don't want to leave the two of you alone anyway.” Turning around toward where where a royal guard was being attacked by two enemies he pulled out a dagger and threw it at one of them. It was less an attack and more of a distraction – hopefully enough to help the beleaguered guard recover. Still, his main concern was the navigator.
Varrin's blade clangs against the huntsman's armour, the distraction enough for another royal guard to enter the fray and make things more even. As Ard looks, he sees that the fight between Eredin and the king is still neck and neck, totally even, and Imlerith is nowhere to be seen. As he watches, Mirellia Trista and Varrin charge towards the navigator. Isabella uses her magic against the sorceror, but he's able to use his own, and the humans feel themselves beginning to freeze.
Verena manages to cleave into the beast's neck, but it raises a leg and is able to slam her down to the ground. Putting its weight on her chest, it begins to crush her, as its teeth begin to grind against each other in preparation.
Ard entered the fight to protect the king, he supposed neither of them had expected a fair duel when this battle had begun. Riding through the column towards the two, he attempted to at the very least distract Eredin with his charge.
She lets out a scream of pain as it's weight pressures her broken Rib. She fires a constant Beam of Igni at his Face while she shoves her Sword into The Creature over and over again.
"Khh. Cursed ice magic." Mirellia groaned as the temperature began to drop. For now, she rushes toward the caster, hoping to interrupt the spell with her Aard sign.
"Dammit!" Varrin cursed as he attempted to reach the navigator before the cold overwhelmed them. There was little else he could do.
Mirellia's sign springs forth, knocking the navigatir back momentarily, enough for she, Varrin and Trista to get in melee range. The navigator recovers just in time, raising his staff defensively.
The king of the Dearg Ruadhri raises a hand, and Ard feels a blast of potent ice magic slam into him, knocking him onto the ground. Slowly, the looming figure advances towards Ard. "Is that you, boy? How strange that you would return from the dead, only to choose the wrong side." Eredin continues to advance, raising his sword. King Auberon moves to intercept and aid Ard, but is stopped when Imlerith makes his move, the giant elf swinging his mace at the king. With Auberon unable to render aid, Eredin goes to stab downwards towards Ard with his sword.
The fiend lets out an enraged scream as its face burns, and it reels back, allowing her to repeatedly stab it. Her silver sword pierces its skin over and over again, seemingly without results, until finally, with a final sigh, it collapses atop the Witcher. Victorious, Verena still has to deal with the fact that the giant monster's corpse is pinning her down, and to make things worse, she feels her body becoming tjred from all the sign use.
"Hah." Letting out a relieved sigh as the ice spell is broken, Mirellia engages the navigator to make sure he doesn't get to cast his spells again. She swings down with her gwyhr, hoping to keep his attention on her to allow her allies to finish him off.
Lutz nods and packs his things. Oncer ready, he awaits Sofia's next instructions. Or the elf opening the portal.
Ard rolled out of the way of Eredin's attack before he got back to his feet, »Caranthir set me on this path, and I will see it through.« Ard was no match for Eredin alone, but he'd try to hold his own. He remained on the defensive for now, he was probably a little swifter than his opponent.
@Regin34 @moonblack The navigator blocks Mirellia's strike with his staff, giving an opening for Trista and Varrin.
They make their way back into Novigrad, making sure to stay out of Cleaver's territory, and enter the bookshop. There, true to her word, the elf picks out a book, says a spell, and opens a portal.
Eredin attacks, his sword slamming down at Ard. The younger elf is able to block the strike, but the force of it reverberates up his arm.
Trista forming stance and strike in the navigator weak point, under arms where armor is always weaker.
