I'd like to share the results so far with you. After all it is thoroughly positive for CHYOA. First I tested banner ads and pop-unders from ExoClick. A banner ad makes around 0.85 USD per day, while pop-unders make around 4.5 USD per day. If you project this, you certainly understand why pop-unders are involved. Because they cover the monthly cost easily. Resulting in (0.85 * 30 * 2 = 51 USD) + (4.5 * 30 = 135 USD) = 186 USD per month. With TrafficJunky the revenue is lower. Here makes a banner ad only 0.15 USD a day. 0.15 * 30 * 2 = 9 USD per month. Pop-unders are not offered. I have also tested PopAds and receive results with up to 10 USD a day (for pop-unders). However, I won't use them because they are too aggressive and lower the user experience. Currently I test the affiliate program of LifeSelector in combination with pop-unders. Because PPA, there is of course a compensation only for conversions. Here, I can't tell you final figures, since it has only been a few days (2 conversions so far).
I have to say I have noticed a better experience on CHYOA. The banners, top and bottom, are not as intrusive and the pop unders are survivable. On a side note; I actually looked at Life Selector and may actually give it a shot if it isn't too expensive. One of the very few times I've ever delved into a site found through a pop up or other ad.
Spoke too soon. Went to click on my notifications and got re-directed to a "hostage" page. Had to delete browsing history and start again. Arrgh!
I'm testing popunders from Ero-Advertising since today. Therefore, I assumed that you meant the previous setup. Edit: Back to the previous popunders. Thanks for your feedback!
Life selector is okay, though not as interactive as I would like. They basically just film a sex scene and then cut it into pieces and let you pick what parts you want to watch.
Just got a pop-up into a new foreground window (Mac OS X / Opera 35.0) when I touched the Notifications link. Earlier today or yesterday, it was a maximized pop-up, so I suppose that's faintly better. Since it only seems to happen occasionally, I haven't been able to figure out how to avoid it.
Recently, in Firefox on iOS, I've been having long strings of redirects to the app store -- I'll be scrolling through a page, and I'll get randomly redirected to an application in the app store. When I switch back to Firefox, it immediately redirects back to a different app's page in the store application. Lather, rinse, and repeat about half a dozen times. The specific applications it directs me to seem to be pretty consistent. It doesn't happen on every page, but it does happen fairly frequently, and it is extremely aggravating.
I really don't think this should happen! Seems like another overly aggressive ad Even though completely disabling ads would work, the ads shouldn't behave like that.
Thank you for your message! Could you send me the product name or URL of the ad? Only then I can report it to the advertising network. Thank you in advance!
I haven't seen any ads since Patreon took off. While I may not be a patreon member I'm grateful for them and my adblock plus extension. Thank You!
Some of the applications linked include: Slotmania Slots Casino: Vegas Slot Machines Games (by Playtika LTD) Slots - Huuuge Casino: Slot Machines (by Huuuge Games Sp. z o.o.) YouCam Makeup: Magic Makeup Selfie Cam (by Perfect Corp.) RUNNING for weight loss: workout & meal plans (by GRINASYS CORP.) Ashley Madison (by Ruby Life Inc.) Bounzy (by Gram Games) In all observed cases, top and bottom banner ads have been via Reporo. In at least one case, a banner pointed to http://free.com-00.site/?_medium=20c207d355b8b978507a65bae25c6d44608394ce&utm_campaign=adult (assuming that I transcribed it correctly) I would have more data, but unfortunately guided access mode (an iOS feature that prevents switching away from the in-use application) also prevents taking screenshots.
Pleased to see an Amanda Clover banner on the desktop website for "Escape the Island of Eldritch Lust," available from Amazon.
