The problem with an authors’ brain is sometimes we have great ideas, but have no fucking clue how to write it. Or maybe that’s just me. I can’t tell you the amount of times I have dreamt an AMAZING story. And have no fucking clue how to transcribe it to English (or any language) that can be read and understood. It’s like in my brain, but it’s just sitting there unhatched.

And while Story Ideas exist for this reason, sometimes your idea is so specific that you can’t even begin to explain it in a way another author would understand what the hell you’re even talking about. And sometimes it’s kind of like taking a shit. You’re like I think it’s going to come out, so you sit on the toilet (aka the new chapter) and you wait... and it turns out it’s just a fart and the toilet is empty... and the chapter is still blank, and no one else gets to see the glorious work you thought about...

Can you relate? I’m sorry if the visual sounds disgusting or this was too random for you, it’s 3 AM and I have ADD, but I want to share my struggles to see how common they are.

To be clear, I meant struggles with writing. Not pooping. I’m fine with the latter.

Well, with the appalling simile aside, I would say that it is a common occurence to come up with some grand idea and quickly after grow frustrated at feeling unable to 'lay it down' in the right way.
For me, it something that happens two times a day on average, one after I wake up and another usually down along the day.

I personally take it as sign that I'm (still) bad at writing.
The lack of ease in conveing one's vision comes, I think, form the lack of experience in doing so. It's a training one has to undergo if wants to improve, and it can be as hard as a physical one.

Deal, for many of us here this is just a hobby so there's really no need to wreck one's head over it.

Every writer and artist struggles with this, where you can visualize the perfect artwork or think of the perfect, movie-like story scene, but it either won't go from your brain onto the computer or else, you can't shape it properly.

For every hundred thoughts we all have of what we might make, we grab onto one and make it real and shareable. Even if it's not as good as we visualized it, the fact that it's out there is impressive. It takes both effort and a degree of courage to share something!

Everyone's struggling with this obstacle and once in a while, we overcome it to make something. :)
