Xavier looked in the tunnel, 'Great, I think we'll need some exterminators for these tunnels.' He tried to call the planetary defence about the possible alien infestation. If he couldn't get a signal, he headed back outside.
@asddas193 Unfortunately, the noise of the wall coming down clearly attracted attention. As Xavier moves towards the stairs, and Vizelle burns some of the webs, they both hear a rustling from down the tunnel, the sound of many feet rushing towards them.
"Our guests have arrived." Vizelle cooed, conjuring some balls of flames around her. Once she saw the insects start to crawl out, she launches her fireballs into the tunnel.
Elena frowned, as she opened the door, wearing just her stockings and robe that covered her body. "Vice-Admiral." She nodded her head, motioning the man to come inside. "What can I do for you tonight?" She asked, curiously, lightly probing the man's mind, only touching the surface of his thoughts.
Spoiler: Combat Psionics Roll D100: 51+15 (Order of Sorcerers)=66 (Pass) Reaching out, Vizelle sends out a fireball that incinerates the first alien that approaches, these ones far larger than the one she saw before. She manages to incinerate the next, as well, but misses her third shot. Six more spider aliens come down the corridor. Spoiler: Marine's Combat Roll D100: 70 (Pass) The admiral's marine bodyguard open up with their laser rifles, the bright red projectiles illuminating the tunnel before searing through the flesh of three aliens and killing them, leaving three alive. Spoiler: Alien Combat Roll 54 (Pass) One of the spiders manages to spit forth a ball of webbing, which slams into Vizelle's arm and sticks it to the wall behind her. Heading back to ground level, Xavier gets a signal, and is told that planetary guard troops should be there in a few minutes.
Pressing forward telepathically, she sees that the admiral isn't protecting his surface thoughts, either because he trusts the priestess, or doesn't know that she's psionic. She feels that his unguarded thoughts are mostly about the coming campaign, with a few about Elena and her appearance. "I was coming to discuss the coming war, sister." Thrax nods. "You gave me strategic command, but I felt it would be best to get on the same page about our strategy."
"Urgh." Vizelle groans as her arm gets stuck to the wall, she then starts to channel her flames through her arm. Attempting to burn the web, and launch jets of flames toward the spiders.
Spoiler: Combat Psionics Roll D100: 49+15 (Order of Sorcerers)= 64 (Pass) Vizelle manages to burn the webs around her arm without harming herself. However, she isn't able to effectively hurt any spiders. Spoiler: Marine Combat Roll 46 (Fail) The four marines continue to fire, but the spiders dart about, dodging the shots with surprising agility. Spoiler: Spider Combat Roll D100: 69 (Nice) The spiders manage to move forward through the incoming fire. They web up two of the marines, while the third spider attacks Vizelle, webbing her arm back to the wall, just as she managed to free it.
"I hope Amara hasn't been troubling you." Sitra says as they move towards the dining room. "She's a great person, just really defensive of her family. Don't take anything she says personally."
A certain part in Elena's mind, would find it insulting, but the other, was full of appreciation to the admiral. He was becoming the professional she hoped to have. Elena nodded and pointed for the man to sit down next to the table. She took a seat next to him. "My initial plan was to gain space superiority, then proceed with ground battles. Another possibility was to strike at the command of the invasion fleet - the prince himself... and his family. With command decapitated, the war of the man's ambition would be over... That would depend if my sources in the system would be able to give yus the location of the enemy HQ." She paused. "Of course, first thing would be to check the situation in the system, finding the XV and XVI fleets, and checking which planets are still resisting the invasion." Elena got up. "Of course, any modifications or new plans you will make, that would ensure empire's victory, I will gladly accept." She turned to the electric pot "Tea? Coffee?"
“Nothing wrong with being defensive of one's family. I just hope she's not being overprotective. Too much of a good thing, and all that...” Eanne shrugged as they walked. “Still, better to be protective of one's family than not care about it, right?”
"Coffee, please." Thrax nods gratefully. "I agree with your analysis. Firstly, we have to establish the situation, see what forces we and the enemy have, etc. But after that, I think the Prince should be our main target. I always found that when fighting a pirate group, they tend to fall apart when the leader dies or is captured. The prince may have a royal title, but this is basically just a large pirate band. His forces are there for the promise of money. Space superiority is also important, since without it the enemy will be unable to transport troops safely.
Sitra sits down at the long dining table, while a servant pours them both some wine. "Yes, I agree. I'd just rather not lose a potential friend out of protectiveness." She smiles. "If she says anything, just tell me, okay?"
"Then we are in agreement." She nodded. She had plans on subduing the prince and his family. His and would become new vassalage of the Empire... maybe Admiral would accept a noble title? Elena walked to the table and put the cup in front of the admiral. She sat down gracefully and took a sip of tea. "Then we are in agreement for the main strategy. What other things should we discuss?" She asked curiously.
"Tsk." Clicking her tongue, Vizelle decides to support the marines instead. Though she doubted it would work, she attempts to halt their movements via telepathy.
"Well..." Thrax tries to think of how to phrase his next words. "The admiral of the XVIth Fleet, I know him pretty well. He's...well... to be honest, I don't particularly care for him. He's a control freak, doesn't like being under other people's command." Thrax is quiet for a moment. "Especially, I'm sorry to say, under a woman's. He might be a hassle."
“Of course, you need not worry.” Eanne gave her new friend a reassuring smile, before changing the subject. “By the way, I think we forgot to exchange contact details when we were talking earlier. I think it would be better if we can contact each other directly instead of going through family servants...”
Spoiler: Telepathy Roll D100: 5+15=20 (Fail) She reaches out to the marines, but instead of calming them, she sends them into a panic, the men quickly moving about as they try to free themselves. Spoiler: Combat Psionics Roll D100: 67+15=82 (Pass) Despite the way the two marines dance about, Vizelle is able to burn the webs off of them without harming them, though their armour is a little scorched. Free, they raise their weapons. Spoiler: Marine Combat Roll D100: 95 (Crit) The marines, now free, all open fire, laser fire turning the tunnel neon red, before all of the remaining spiders lie dead, corpses smoking. Vizelle easily frees herself, now that there's no more hostiles to bother her. "Are you alright, ma'am?" One of the marines asks. "Thanks!" Another says, calming down.
