The duke reacts to Sitra's exclamation with a look of curiosity, and he looks at her deeply as though examining her. Spoiler: Seduction Roll D100: 68+15 (Seduction Skill)=83 (Pass) Squeezing Amara's foot in just the right places, Eanne gets a response. "Mmmh!" Amara moans, drawing the attention of her father and sister. "Ah, sorry. I pulled a muscle on my last assignment. It's a little sore." She doesn't quite blush, but Eanne sees her composure slacken a little. "Oh, how terrible, sis. Do you need anything?" Sitra gives a concerned look. "No, no... I'm fine." Amara reassures her.
Elena grabbed one of the alien's guns and shot him with it - right into his forehead. She fired two more shots, just to be sure. After that, she tried to contact her two bodyguards, to check if they won their encounter, to have them meet with her. If that failed, she would contact any of her bodyguards on board and try to check what was the situation, all the while staying out of sight... what was happening. She hated moving blind.
Eanne decided to have mercy on Amara and freed her foot, allowing her to pull it back. As fun as teasing the older sister was, Eanne did not want to cause a scandal, which would likely happen if their little game got discovered, either by Sitra or by the Duke.
Xavier looked at Vizelle, looking impressed with her skills, 'That's a nice move with the barrier... it might the fight nearly effortless.' He continued onwards, further into the tunnel.
Spoiler: Alien's Recovery Roll 13 (Fail) The alien remains dazed as Elena yanks his sidearm, a heavy pistol. The recoil is heavy, and Elena isn't a trained marksman, but given how close she is, she doesn't need to be. The heavy revolver blasts the alien's head into mush, and Elena is able to get away. Contacting her bodyguards, one of them reports that the second is dead, and that though she herself is unharmed, she's currently pinned down. As though to emphasise the point, Elena hears the sound of the autocannon booming in the background. Instead, Elena gets on the line to contact someone else. Spoiler: NPC Roll (<50= Enemy, >50= Friendly) 83 As she does, a set of double doors in front of her open, and Elena sees Thrax with a squad of six naval marines step through it, weapons drawn. "Ma'am, with us!" Thrax gestures her over.
Amara pulls her foot back, giving Eanne a long look before going back to her food. The rest of the meal is uneventful, if delicious, and soon they've all finished eating. "Mmm, that was fantastic." Sitra leans back. Amara stands and heads back to her room.
"Your job's done. Evacuate and join me if you can." She ordered her bodyguard, just before she was found by the admiral. Without any hesitation, Elena follows Thrax. "What is going on admiral?" She asked as she followed him. That he was here instead of the bridge, did not bode well.
@asddas193 Vizelle, Xavier and the four marines continue forwards through the tunnel. Spoiler: Other Teams D100: 54 (Pass) Over the comms, they hear the planetary defence squads coming up against the aliens. From the sound of it, they manage to prevent the aliens from escaping, but take heavy losses. Moving forward, Vizelle and Xavier come within sight of a large central chamber. A handful of spiders, one of them twice the size of the others, are arranged in a circle around a silver sphere identical to the one found in the victim's office, except for the fact that this one is far larger, maybe the dimensions of a boulder.
"Forgive me, sister." The bodyguard apologises for her failure to keep her charge safe. Thrax approaches Elena, weapon drawn. "The fleet had to slow down in an asteroid field. A group of pirates took the opportunity to board us, probably to get to you. We're clearing them out now, but there are still some on this deck, including the leader. Were you harmed?"
“Yes, that was wonderful.” Eanne agreed as she too leaned back in her chair. From the corner of her eye she watched Amara leave, but did not move to follow.
The duke looks at Eanne, and then at the darkening sky outside. "If you'd like, you're perfectly welcome to stay the night, my lady." He chuckles. "Of course, if you want to leave, you'll have more choice in the matter than you did in coming here." Sitra looks confused by her father's implication.
"Not me." Elena answered with a scowl, the loss of bodyguard hurting her. "How did they knew I was coming? We moved fast - they should not have been able to know about us. Even less about me." Elena said as she checked the bolter pistol she took from the alien pirate. The answer could only be one. There was a traitor among them... or in the capital. "This is not acceptable." She said heavily.
"I don't know, ma'am." Thrax shakes his head, before putting a finger to his ear. "Delta squad, Bravo squad, lay down suppressing fire, let Omega flank them." He takes his hand away. "We need to get you to a safe place, ma'am, until the fighting is over."
“Thank you for your hospitality, Duke Chernobog. Yes, I'd like to spend the night – might as well rest and relax before I go back to my duties tomorrow.” Eanne gratefully accepted the offer. Spending the day relaxing had been her intention before the Duke's... invitation, after all – not that she minded, with how well things had turned out so far.
@unisol_gr44 "I take it that's their queen? But that stone..." Vizelle said as she focuses on the barrier, "Clear them out please, I'd like to investigate it up close."
Elena shook her head. "We take the head, the rest of the body follows." She turned to admiral Thrax. "Call the special ops squad. We shall take down the bitch in command, then make the rest of her follower's surrender." She smiled mithersly. Then she paused, as she had a revelation. "You can use the dead pirate's channel, to give them false information about my whereabouts, and pull them into a trap."
Chernobog smiles. "Very well, then. Enjoy your evening. If you need anything, just tell the servants." He gets up and walks to his office, leaving Sitra and Eanne alone once more.
'Easier said than done,' Xavier said, 'Perhaps we should wait for the other teams to reach the central chamber and attack from all sides?' 'I'll have a look at the big one,' Xavier looked to the big spider, trying to analyse any weak spots or other clues before they attacked the aliens.
Spoiler: Barrier Roll D100: 67+15 (Order of Sorcerers)=82 (Pass) @unisol_gr44 The barrier once more surrounds the squad, humming with psionic energy. It's not quite as strong as it was during the last fight, but it's very much decent.
“Thank you, have a good night.” Eanne smiled back and watched the Duke leave before turning her attention to Sitra. “That was an enjoyable dinner. Now that it's over would you like me to help you with deciphering that scroll we were talking about earlier? I doubt we will get it all done in one try, but we can at least get started. Or should we leave that for another time?”
