What is your "deleted scene" in your story?

I'm not sure I get it. You wrote it crude and realistic as a protest towards those happy-go-rapers whose womens suddenly start enojoying the deed midway, right? Then what? Did you feel bad because it was too crude and realistic?
And why did you need Friedman to take it down? Couldn't you just remove the chapter yourself?

I too wrote something comparable, I think, a while back. It was mostly badly received by the audience of that particular story, I kind of half regretted to have written it at some point, so that I considered taking it down, but ultimately decided to not to.
Then for a while I worked on building a whole new branch, with a more "credible" build up which would make the rape more forewarned and predictable, but at some point I just stopped and left it all in my drawer, because ultimately I wasn't much into it and I'm lazy ass, so I just went back and put a warning on the chapter title :p

A certain philosophy, when it comes to writing, that I go by is to keep your writings somewhere and look back at them, see if you've improved or not.

And since I've published it online already, there was no way to just unpublish a chapter other than delete them. Or the less sociable route of just copy+pasting the entire chapter and posting it somewhere else before deleting the chapter that's already online.

And suppose I did feel too bad about it, yes. And like I said, the disgust that I felt was suddenly present in my own writing, only this time, I had the sole authority of doing something about it - and that deed was to remove it from the public eye.

I still have that copy. Haven't opened it since I had Friedman take it off. That's about it.

    Sensible.

You publish something, you don't want it to be public anymore for whatever reason, that's your call really.

Still don't get why you needed Friedman to be involved, but I don't want to drag this.

I mean, I'm curious of course, but I kind of feel like you don't want to talk about this anymore even if you are the one who brought it up.

Lindsey Shepard: The Path To Justice; Lindsey originally had an older brother who would have turned out to be Susan's father. I took that out because I decided the plot twist of Lindsey and Susan being aunt and niece was unnecessary and wouldn't really add anything to the story.

There was also a scene where Susan cut Marel. I removed when I decided that Marcie should cut herself by accidental.

Arizelle Chronicles; Originally Lily was gonna to the tower immediately. At the entrance she would have been confronted by nine people from alternate universes including a male version of herself, all wanting to get their wish from the tower.

This seemed too similar to Tower of Voices so I changed it to Lily going on a pilgrim to five temples before she could get into the tower.

I also originally had Hilda Stark's choice to flee leading to the same outcome trying to fight the invaders before deleting the second path. I'll come back to that one later.

  5. Damn, where do I start with cut content? For my flagship (and only) story on this site, New World, New Adventures, New Love, which takes place in the world of Monster Hunter: World (great game, you should play it), there was going to be a lot less fucking and a lot more monster hunting. The opening scene was going to be a full hunt from beginning to end, starting with meeting the poor sap who hired Maxson and Nymn (the main characters), then tracking the target and encountering other monsters along the way, and finally fighting against the target monster. It wasn't going to be that graphic, but the fight would have had enough descriptive words in it for you to use your imagination and make it as gory as you want. The entire idea ultimately never made it that far through my process because I didn't really see the point in having so much buildup right at the beginning. Instead, I just decided to open up with the fight scene part against the target (or targets in this case) right off the bat. I probably will write a full monster hunt one day, but I'm still thinking about it.

But wait, there's more! I originally planned on making my deuteragonist, Nymn, my protagonist's brother. This is mainly because Nymn's entire character is loosely based on both my brother IRL and his character in Monster Hunter: World, so it only felt natural, right? Well to me, it felt too natural and too close to real life. After all, at the end of the day, I'm writing an erotic CHYOA story, not an autobiography. So, that's why I cut that.

Sorry, but I still have more cut content. I currently am going through and developing about six (maybe seven if I decide to keep my most recent girl) different concepts for potential love interests. Some are based on TV, anime, or other media, some were based on people I know, but a few just popped into my empty head out of nowhere. Of course, there were some I had to scrap. One of them was a yandere girl from Maxson's town that would stalk him when they were young. Although she didn't make it far in the creative process (she didn't even get a name), she somehow inspired Kayris, the first girl that made it into the story. I completely ditched the creepy predator idea though and replaced it with a play on the "best friend next door who also happens to be hot" trope. I felt it would keep the story light enough for me to add in some future political and social drama. Another girl that was ditched as a love interest but will be re-added as a future enemy was the hotheaded and foul-mouthed Marion McCarthy. Although I fleshed her personality and appearance out, I didn't want to add her as a love interest for Maxson or anyone else. I felt that Marion's personality as an angry, rude, "go fuck yourself 'cuz I don't give a shit" kind of girl just didn't seem like a good choice for a lover. Hell, I wouldn't want to go on a date with her and I made her! Instead, I decided that Marion was going to serve as an enemy that Nymn isn't fond of due to some backstory between the two. That probably will fit her better than being somebody else's girlfriend.
