I don't know if it's only for me or if it's directly coming from the site (only happened on it so far.). For a couple of weeks now when I write a chapter using my phone, if I hit the back button to erase the last letter it randomly erases the whole text I typed on the page sometimes. It's super frustrating to have to retype entire paragraphs.
The problem is with the cookies I think. When I cleared cookies and logged in with the remember me option checked it no longer logs me out for no reason. And I have another question, I don't know if it is a bug or not but, Why there is no Draft Chapters on the story map. I'm an editor of a story so when I want to proofread the next chapter I have to open the latest chapter and then open the unpublished chapters, it would be super convenient to easily scroll down the story map and read the drafts then navigate the entire draft of chapters to the newly added one.
I think they were shown in the beginning. At that time there was an (unknown) bug with Firefox that hid the status labels, so every chapter looked like published. That might have been confusing. Right now, the code isn't intended to show them, so I wouldn't consider it a bug. Though I think it would be good to be able to see drafts as editors and story owners, maybe with some additional warning that you're not editing/deleting another user's draft. If it is a moderated story and the authors don't have a story role assigned (author, editor, owner), they could simply "publish" the chapter. That way, you would get a notification about the addition and the chapter would be "In Review" and thus visible on the story map. It would also show up on your Review Chapters list.
Lately I have noticed a couple of instances of people leaving comments that have no text on stories. I believe this is happening unintentionally, not as a troll or anything, as I'm seeing it from some people with an established history of meaningful comments. I tested, but it doesn't seem to me to be possible to leave a completely blank comment intentionally (hitting post with the box blank does nothing). This isn't necessarily a huge issue from my standpoint; if the person really needs to contact me, I assume they can try to post it again or DM me. However, I only started seeing it recently (sorta) and thought I should mention it in case it's a symptom of anything larger. The latest chapter in question, if it helps: https://chyoa.com/chapter/Finally,-Kyoko-relaxes.1038219
Hi, i was trying to edit my chapters but i did something wrong with uploading a image, and no my first chapter is a bad connection, can you help me fix this? https://chyoa.com/chapter/Dina-and-Andi--Competitive-sisters-with-a-kinky-side.863070 Remove the images so i can avoid this bad connection
I have removed the image. Please only use image links in your chapter. Don't drag and drop an image into the chapter. You can put a link in the parentheses I have left in your chapter.
Good evening, hope all is well with the fine folks here. A kind member recently volunteered to be an editor of one of my stories. He can see drafted chapters from the story chapters, but not from the Story map. Is this possibly a bug? Something on my end / change settings in the story? Or is it intentional that editors can't see drafts from the story map? Thank you kindly!
Hey AlphaSpiritNY, Thanks for the feedback! Drafts do not appear on the story map. Not a bug, but maybe a suggestion for the future
Hello, I've made a mistake, i am a little ashamed now, beacuse I already know what happend, just had to do a little research, Im getting an error 502 becasue I tryied to add an image to my story by draging it directly, somebody could help me please? I was trying to erase from the story, but I can't open the editor
Hello, I'd like to report a bug. I think it might be a bug, at least. I don't know if it's only happening to me or not, but ever since a few months ago, I'm getting logged out of the site automatically at random intervals, sometimes immediately after logging in. It's a bit more common when I'm on mobile, but it happens on desktop sometimes as well.
I'm pretty sure I know what caused this bug, but I can't think of anyway to fix it on my end so here we are. I was testing some conditional chapters in order to set up a preference system for my story, but while I was testing things my 'Current Chapter' got set to a chapter that I ended up deleting. Meaning that the next time I hit Start Game it gave me the 'What page were you looking for?' error and now I can't even look at the story while I'm logged in because it keeps trying to send me to a chapter that doesn't exist, and I can't un-Start Game from outside the story.
You can reset your game by adding "?game=reset" to the end fo the address. Here's an example from earlier in the thread: https://chyoa.com/story/Rescue-the-Captured-Superheroes.25545?game=reset Obviously you'll need to change the address to match your story.
Heya! So I just recently had my first story approved (thanks!), and I'm having a technical problem with it. I have a cover image to use, a .bmp file, 31.5 KB, 620 x 1234 px. When I go to edit the story, add it, and click save, it keeps saying, "Oops, looks like something went wrong." I've also tried adding the same image as a .jpg. I can post it here if needed, but not sure if I should just now, since it's NSFW. Any idea what the problem could be?
Congratulations on the first story! I've just tested the upload and didn't get an error message. You can only upload JPG, PNG and GIF. Did you convert the BMP image correctly? Feel free to post it here and I'll check it out.
Hey Duskford, Thanks for the report! Can you delete the cookies in your browser to avoid possible complications with older sessions?
Ah, okay, I see--the file was downloading as a .webp, and I was just changing the extension, which I guess doesn't actually convert the file. I used a converter and now it works fine. Thanks!
