Avatar posting issue

Every photo I post as my avatar it posts sideways. Any idea why? How can I make my picture orientation correct?

 

Might be stupid, but have you tried editing them with MS Paint and using the rotational tools in an attempt to fix them?

I assume that the original image appears to have the correct orientation and is then displayed rotated.

I'm not sure but I could imagine that it is related to the orientation tag as browsers might ignore it.

If you rotate your image (without "lossless rotation") and saving it without keeping the EXIF data, the orientation might be like it looks in your image editing program.

 

I even tried saving the photo incorrectly on my phone but it still posts sideways

 

What happens if you save it in a completely different direction or if you make a screenshot of it?

 

I tried saving it sideways so it would stand up. I will try screenshooting it next t.
