I tried to declare a few boolean variables with value "X", but it only accepted one variable per thread. (It seems, that variables have to be declared to use them as conditions) In the chapter "continue" you can choose a thread and get redirected to the thread "continue". At the same time one of the values should change, but this doesn't work for the thread "Socks", where the initial value was declared in the thread "continue".
No bug here! After choosing the thread "Socks", the value changes to TRUE. Then it continues to the thread "continue" and changes the value back to FALSE. So this should be correct.
I switched to integer variables and was able to create all 14 variables I needed in the first thread. Now I use them with 0 for FALSE and 1 for TRUE. Most times I tried to save variables, they didn't get saved. I experienced best results when leaving the first line of variables (default boolean) empty, without deleting them.
When I try to Login on the site, it says things (my Firefox is remembering) don't "match credentials". I enter my Sign-up E-mail, & reset it via the link in the mail to the same thing each time. Next time I try to Login, same issue.
Hi, Thanks for the info. I've checked the log in procedure but couldn't identify an error. Is it possible that Firefox has the wrong password?
If this was the first time, perhaps. But considering this happened 3 times in a row (& in a week), & each time, the E-mail I get gives me a chance to update/change (not reset) my password, at which point I do so to the same exact thing (I thought) it was before, the error must be with the site (& I mean specifically, as this Forum never has a Login problem).
I'm getting the same problem with italics. So far, it seems random. I haven't dicerned a pattern for when it happens. I'll keep an eye on it, and if I see something more, I'll let you all know.
I have never used HTML (italics or any such thing) in my Login stuff... Also, I mainly dislike it b/c what appears to be my only recourse is clicking that I "forgot my password" (which makes me open my E-mail address to "reset" the password to the same thing it was) when the truth every time is the "credentials" cannot be remembered/recalled/saved correctly at all.
Friedman, I think I may have something on the italics issue. The last thread I wrote had the same problem, where italics instead appear normal with underscores around the text that was supposed to be italicized. I think the issue lies in writing in italics, then switching back to normal text. It appears to be adding a space where there shouldn't be one, almost like it's adding the space separating the italicized text from the rest. As I keep writing, I'll see if it happens again in the same way.
Not sure if this is the right place to post it, but someone is doing something that is "bugging" me... They posted something in the "Profile Posts" area about me that is not true, & they also seem to have sent it to someone else (has an arrow to some other person's name), though I know neither how nor why. Also, every time I Login (after going through the repeatedly-happening, yet-to-be-fixed "forgot password" E-mail nonsense), it gives me a pop-up window asking me if I'm changing/updating the password for (the E-mail address they sent the link to) or one simply called, "<>". When I choose the former, it then tells me ("9x out of 10") the password(s) don't match.
Not sure if this a bug on the sites end or not but I go to click on recently updated stories and then it goes to showing results for Latest_Activity with no results found.
Seeing a minor formatting issue with the image version of the Chyoa wordmark repeating (seeing about 15% of another copy of the image, "chyoa|c"). Browser is Brave 0.10.3 on Windows 10.
I've updated the logo yesterday and now you see probably a cached version. Try to force reload the site (Windows: F5, Mac: CMD+R).
I had to dig in with Brave's developer tools to get the logo to refresh. Early adopter problems, but looking fine now. Thanks for the pointer.
not sure if this has been posted, but sometimes when I put something in italics, I come back later to find the italics gone and underscore before and after the word I had put in italics
I don't know if deleted chapters are actually being permanently removed properly. I just checked my recently deleted chapters and I have chapters that have been there for literal months. Despite them saying that they have "<1 day" before being deleted permanently, I have been keeping tabs over the last several days and I don't think any of them have actually been deleted. I can still get in and interact with them and if i went back into my notifications and select a chapter that another author has written that he deleted months ago..I reach it with no issues and could even hypothetically edit it and re-publish it if I wanted to(although I do not know if it would go through). There are also chapters that I have rejected that are still being shown to me as "not published" that have not been re-submitted for months and months that are sticking around. It just seems as if chapters that should be long gone are just floating around in limbo.
Found a problem while stumbling to this story: https://chyoa.com/story/Adam's-Gift.1227 I'm pretty sure allowing links in tags is not something that's intentionally allowed. Moreover, any HTML/Scripts should be filtered.
