Hi, sorry if this has been answered elsewhere, but when I uploaded my story, it didn't space properly even though I spaced it with shift+enter in the editor. I think this was because I used symbol breaks for some scenes as the first and last scene spaced mostly okay. The main part of the story shows as one big block of text, even when I tried to go back and edit it with only the enter key. The code for spacing like <br> shows as well. Any tips to fix this? Thanks
Shit.. I figured out how to delete, but I'll try one more time. Before I do, is the general rule shift+enter or just enter to space paragraphs in the text editor?
Oh, that does terrible things from personal experience. Normally, pressing enter once would lead to two paragraphs happening. Shift+Enter however, would make the next paragraph be 1 paragraph below the previous paragraph.
So I made a new chapter on a sandbox story and did this as writing. The first two-paragraphs on top is the lovechild of just pressing enter once, and the second two-paragraphs are the result of holding shift and enter. Here's what they look like after pressing submit.
Hey, so I resubmitted with only Enter and not Shift+Enter, and it appears fine now. I actually need to edit some italics in there so I'll get back if that shows as code when I change it. Edit: I actually remembered to put the italics in already. just want to note that they appeared with code when I initially tried to edit the spacing-disaster version.
That's quite interesting. The editor converts the input to Markdown before storing it in the database. Markdown uses *italics* or _italics_ to store italic content. (If the editor (RTE) is deactivated, it is possible to write in plain Markdown.)
