Hold any person in high regard when it comes to sex scenes?

Going to try and make this a short one out of curiosity.

Do you, dear reader, hold anyone in high regard when it comes to their writing of sex scenes? From what I've seen, there are different types of sex scene authors.

There's the detailer, or the one that puts paragraphs upon paragraphs of emotions and verbs together.

There is the reader-worker, or the kind that makes the reader do all of the work by putting up lines of paragraphs saying "we've fucked for hours in a doggy position."

Then there's the one that I like to call, the Sexter as they're more similar to non-literate roleplayers in text-based roleplays on the internet that is ok with the use of asterisks, short verbs, or actions, and optionally, cohesive grammar.

And plenty more that I've forgotten/refuse to list down.

Understandably, everyone has a bias of what's considered good, but that's why I'm asking for your personal favorite.

P.S. Dear YveltalWarrior, don't say something about how you don't respect/care/read other people's stories so you don't have a favorite, I am asking if someone could recommend or compliment another author's writing.

  2. Alright then, guess I said something out of line... again. Well, happens one way or another, not everyone likes what I have to say. What can I say, it can't be helped that I have opinions and don't follow the mainstream definition of "acceptable behavior." Least I was not accused of being something called "transphobic" this time. I'll sit this one out, thank you very much. Also, I didn't see this post till just now, so I'm late to my own cancelation. Yay.

The whole point of the post was more of a recommendation of another author, or what others think is a suitable writing style for sex scenes, as many has said that they found difficulty in writing them, and less so about an author's own likes and dislikes of their writing style.

And you just proved my point with your reply of a message centering about you, instead of centering around another author's or authors' works. Thanks.

Furthermore, the note was telling you to not do this specifically, not whatever else you were thinking.

Based on your categories, I definitely prefer detailers myself. I really like long, detailed sex scenes that focus a lot on how the characters are feeling and how the sex is changing their relationship and view of each other. It's way hotter and more interesting for me than a few lines that leaves everything up to my imagination.

An author I'd recommend for great sex scenes is Jerk Gently, who is an awesome writer in general with some wonderful ideas and plots in their stories, but I also enjoy their focus on the submissive perspective in sex scenes. They are wonderful at writing a conflicted or questioning sub discovering the pleasure of giving in to someone else's control, and also do great at describing the sensations and feelings the sub experiences during sex.

Surprising no one, I prefer a degree of detail. If it's not there to get off to, then why it is there?

I am too much of a 21st century reader. I havent the attention span or settled on anyone long enough to have a favourite.
In general though I prefer authors who can pack a lot of plot and character development into shorter stories. I'd rather read the Chekhovs or Hemingways of filth rather than the Joyces or Tolstoys.

Sorry, can't say I remember any name. I'm not very analytical those occasional times I read.

Like most I think, I like better those who take time in describing the sex a little better.

Not sure I get the third category though. People who write with their phone and don't bother with punctuation?
People who write always like they're typing a message with shortenings and acronyms?
Maybe it's just a matter of age, don't know.

Partly. Not accusing all of the authors that write plainly on their phones, but there are those that don't try, at least, there are those that I haven't seen try.

Can't seem to find them again, except for the gaps in my memories from users that have been deleted. Though, mayhaps it's even safe to say that I've probably them all up.

Oh right, speaking of which, a memory was just jogged in my brain.

While it's not an example of the asterisks, sexting kind of page... there are still chapters out there, that I know of that doesn't seem like they were given much thought... though as I write this, the brain is not in the best of conditions, admittedly.

    For example:

Thinking about it though, though the intent was not to spread pessimism... something like this, at least me, is too jarring to be called erotic.

Well, that is some lazy chapter there for sure. It even managed to gather 7 likes.

About being erotic I don't know. People get off to the oddest things, I wouldn't be surprised if someone found lice arousing.

The girl is cute, the wordplay is...

No idea how people can type on phones these days. I miss the blackberry days when I used to have a proper full qwerty keyboard on the phone. Could definitely do proper chapters on those beasts.

It doesnt seem fair somehow when some folk can spend long hours crafting something engaging and others slap 2 lines of text-crap in, un proof-read, miss-spelled, and call it a chapter too.

I would put in a second recommendation for JerkGently. Porneia is also someone whose stories I often find myself revisiting.

I enjoy JerkGently, and Porneia as well.

BronzePlaceWriter stands out for me. He can really dive into what a character is feeling both physically and emotionally.

I feel there's another category of writers that focus on providing limited, but effective details. billybobjenkins362 uses this technique well, including just enough lurrid details and letting your imagination fill in the rest. It fits his over the top, hedonistic writing style.

I like the stories of the early Chyoo author (look at his stories' serial numbers) AaronWebster.

The sex scenes in AaronWebster's 7 Little College Girls and A Middle Class Orgy are detailed, specific, and hinge on the interactions between and among the characters participating and watching.

I write various levels of detail but mostly on the more-detailed, sense-specific end.

I get amused every time I see this because I actually do write on my phone usually because I’m writing my erotic works late at night, but I also take my time with certain things. There are some things I contribute to that I will just pump out without really proofreading, but then there’s other stuff where I will spend months trying to get right, even years. But then again, I’ve been writing since I was a kid so I at least know how to make chapters presentable minus a few typos here and there.
