    Human/Elf/Asari/?
    Gender:
    Appearance/Picture:
    Political Party:
A political party the character belongs to. Can be one of the existing ones – if you want to create a new party, post it in the game information thread
Support: group/groups of voters that voted on you – cannot be too big
Agenda: Main agenda of the character – the reason he/she entered politics, and the reason of support of her voters to her.
Views: Private and public views on other agendas.
Background/history: past actions that define the background of the character – like industrialist/rich ex-slaver/war veteran. A background story is what connects the character to the world and allows some pull.
Skill: the usual 2 points system – 1 point expert in skill, 2 points mastery
Resources: special resources that can be used by the politician. 3 points on resources f.e. 1 point would allow contact with a small group of gangsters or ownership of a space shuttle or a professional bodyguard, 2 points would allow contact with a spy or an assassin or ownership of space corvette, contacts in police allowing to ‘perform some actions by police officers’, etc
Flaws: These can be skill deficiencies or character flaws that will make certain rolls harder. Each flaw adds a skill point, with a maximum of three flaws.

For if the game gets going...

    Name:
    Jean "Jeannie" Delisle
    Race: Human
    Sex/Gender: Female/Female
    Appearance:
    Janine Van Patten.png

Political Party: Justice League "JL" (Publicly), Radical Homeland Party "RHP" (Privately)
    Support: Private Business Owners
Agenda: She is supported by wealthy private investors as she assures them she'll be able to protect their business interests.
    • Establish a hereditary MONARCHY.
    • Develop a strong MIXED economy.
    • Build Sanctum Mesa into a powerful INDEPENDENT state.
    • Openly supports EQUALITY between humans and elves with inclinations towards some MINOR JUSTICE towards slavers. Privately she's partially racist towards aliens and agrees with a HUMAN SUPERIORITY platform and maintaining the STATUS-QUO.
    Views:
    • Democracy: Is best utilized as a placating tool for the masses; elections are popularity contests between incapable buffoons. Have one & support it publicly, but keep it ineffectual and limited; have actual power reside in the hands of the capable.
    • Dictatorship: may achieve the same results as a Monarchy in the short term, but inevitably leads to power struggles that could potentially destroy everything. She wants to start a lasting dynasty, not be a flash-in-the-pan. This form is no good.
    • Federation: Surrender power to others who don't share your culture or values!? No. Just... No.
    • Military Economy: Too limited
    • Civilian Economy: Preferable, but as a boarder-state Sanctum Mesa needs a strong military presence and manufacturing capacity.
    • Asari block: Aliens? No thank you.
    • Inheritor block: Useful allies, but it's important not to become too attached.
    • Former Dictatoriate block: Another failed empire wanting to reclaim its former glory. Keep friendly channels open so that when Sanctum Mesa becomes powerful they'll eagerly join as vassal states.
    • Full Justice: HAHAHA!!! *pauses* You were serious!?
Background/History: Shawn Delisle was born a commoner in Sanctum Mesa. He spent his youth working dirty jobs in factories trying to stay clear of gangs. Despite his hardships he was still able to see that he had it better than non-humans. In his teenage years he left the city and spent time with various elven tribes that dotted the world. He learned about their various cultures and hardships. When he returned to Sanctum Mesa he took up the cause of championing change for equality and abolishing the slave trade. During the war he joined the military and fought to defend his homeworld. After the fall of the Dictatoriate he returned to politics and served as a highly vocal and public member of the short lived governments. Shawn is highly regarded (publicly) by most (if not all) and was the logical choice to be the new colony governor. His selection appeased most major factions and the populace seem to be content with him in charge. His wife on the other hand is more contentious...

Jean met and fell in love with Shawn when he returned from his "walkabout". While Shawn was a commoner she came from old slaver money, which has afforded her a degree of wealth that survived the war and political upheaval of the last several years. As a child of "The Upper Class" she's ideally situated by the wealthy to look after their interests, which she has done to an acceptable level so far. If her husband is the consummate statesman, she is the consummate politician. Pragmatic to a shocking degree, there's nothing she won't do to secure her goals. A shrewd negotiator, she's an indispensable asset to her husband and she's fully willing to trade anything to get what she wants. Even if it comes at the expense of her husband's idealistic and altruistic goals.

With her husband in the big chair, Jean's ultimate goal is to establishing a hereditary monarchy where her children would obviously inherit power. While she loves her husband, fidelity to him is something she sacrificed long ago in exchange for their safety and advancement. Initially Jean was able to conceal her adulterous liaisons, but after her fifth child was born with notably darker skin the secret was out of the bag. Relations with her husband deteriorated, and the two were close to divorce, but after decades of political struggles Shawn has become somewhat jaded and more pragmatic. As such, although he's unhappy with her adultery, he's accepted it as a necessary evil and the two have worked hard to improve their marriage.
    • Jacob "Jake" Delisle (21) - Eldest son of Jean and Shawn, Jake takes after his father in almost every respect. He's handsome, charming, charismatic, and highly intelligent. Physically tall, and powerful he's also compassionate to those less fortunate than him. Essentially he's "Shawn Delisle twenty-five-years ago" and the colony of Sanctum Mesa expects great things from him. He hopes not to disappoint. Although she loves all her children equally, Jake is Jean's favorite (she'd never say so out loud however).
    • Victoria Delisle (19) - The result of Jean's first infidelity, Victoria was conceived as part of a deal between Jean and a Dictatoriate officer to secure her husband a more "favorable" posting in the fleet. If Jake is his father twenty-five-years ago then Victoria is the spitting image of her mother from that same time. Beautiful, with a voluptuous body, Victoria is the desire of every man (and most women) whom she meets. The apple of her father's eye, Victoria worships her father (Shawn) as her greatest hero. Amongst all her children, Jean's infidelity hurt Victoria the most and she still hasn't forgiven Jean for it. It's also sparked a deep and soul shattering fear in Victoria that she's not Shawn's biological child. A fear that she has not had the courage to confront. Also, don't call her "Vicky", only Jean calls her "Vicky" and she hates it.
    • Shawna Delisle (18) - Conceived as part of a negotiation to secure increased supplies for Sanctum Mesa from the Dictatoriate, Sarah is something of a lackadaisical brat. Physically beautiful like her mother and sister yet with an athletic figure she has no right to possess considering her lack of physical activity. Sarah is not intentionally cruel or mean-spirited, but unlike her older siblings she doesn't think of or put others first.
    • Derek Delisle (10) - Named after his maternal grandfather, he was conceived to secure financial backing for her extended family when the war began to turn against the Dictatoriate. As he is underage, he shouldn't appear in the story.
    • William "Billy" Delisle (5) - Conceived during a particularly long and difficult negotiation with a labor union for their public support of Shawn during the first government of the Republic of Sanctum Mesa, "Billy" clearly isn't Shawn's child and was the start of contention between Jean and her husband. Regardless, Shawn has embraced "Billy" as his own. Since Billy is underage he shouldn't appear in the story.
    Skills:
    • Charm *
    • Negotiation **
    • Scrutiny *
    Resources:
    • Brothel ** - Jean is a silent partner of a brothel in Sanctum Mesa. She uses it as a means of collecting information to use in her negotiations or as blackmail
    • Personal Wealth * - Part heiress to a wealthy slave-trading family, although the operation has been shut down, Jean retains a portion of the wealth as an inheritance
    Flaws:
    • Known Infidelity - Whether people hold it against her personally or not, in the corridors of power everyone knows Jean's pussy can be a part of any negotiation if they want it to be.
    • Racist - She hides it well, but Jean suffers a penalty when dealing with non-human races.

    Name: Jacob "Jake" Delisle
    Race: Human
    Gender: Male
    Appearance:
    Political Party:
    Justice League
Agenda: Create a stable society based on the values of justice and equality

    • Keep the republic stable, and ensure that the democracy isn't corrupted or subverted
    • Ensure the safety and happiness of the republic's citizens
    • Fight to destroy any foreign invaders or raiders who threaten the republic's security
    Views:

    • Democracy: The only true way for a government to be run justly is for the people's voices to be heard. Democracy forever!
    • Dictatorship/Monarchy: Tools of unjust tyranny. Jacob is strongly against autocratic rule in all its forms
    • Federation: Though he likes the idea of every small region of the republic having its own say in how it's ruled, a federation seems too weak and unstable a form of government for a nation surrounded by potential enemies.
    • Mixed economy: Favorable. We must have a strong military, but if that's all we invest in, we'll be doomed to become a military dictatorship
    • Asari block: Non-humans are every bit as welcome in the Republic as anyone else. If they mean us no harm, we should welcome them.
    • Former Dictatoriate block: Would be tyrants and dictators. If they don't renounce their ways, war should be on the table.
    • Full Justice: Tempting, but pursuing it would likely start a civil war. For the sake of the republic, we should let bygones be bygones, except for the truly repugnant and brutal among the slavers. Also, Jake's mother is a former slave owner, so there might also be some bias in this view.
    Background/History:
Eldest son of Jean and Shawn, Jake takes after his father in almost every respect.

Jake is a troubled young man. On the one hand, an idealist who strives for justice and equality, he's come to realise over the years that his mother isn't devoted to the same ideals. He's come to realise, to his disgust, that he's been groomed to someday become a monarch. Despite his hatred for that idea, he adores his mother, Jean, and can't bring himself to put an end to her schemes once and for all. He's aware that all his siblings are born of adultery, but he loves them all anyway.

    Skills:
    • Orator **
    • Combatant **
    • Charm *
    Resources:
    • Political Royalty **: Though he doesn't like it, Jake's position as the son of a beloved leader and a wealthy noble has given him a large and devoted following
    • Delisle Family Fortune *: Though not to the same extent as his mother, Jake has access to personal wealth.
    Flaws:

    • Naive: His idealism tends to be blind, and he has trouble understanding that most people aren't as devoted to justice as he is.
    • Gallant: Has a tendency to charge into danger to help other people, without pausing to consider the possible risks.

    @Omega98 & @Tjf

I didn't saw the familial connection coming! :)

    Both characters are okay!.

But having both Jean and Jake as part of the ruling family... hmm...
I will be tapping into Shawn Delisle and making things complicated

One thing - do write how many points you spend on each resource. How much on wealth, on brothel and connections.
It would give me a better clarity of how strong the resources are.

Two ideas for characters, both incomplete. I'll try to finish them later (or maybe tomorrow).

Name: Ilfilia Lunariel, Ilfy for her family and close friends (jokingly called Milfilia or Milfy by some people)
    Race: Elf
    Gender: Female
    Appearance/Picture:
Political Party: Radical Homeland Party (RHP)
Support: Limited support from the following groups: monarchists, free elves, rebel elves, former elven slaves
Agenda: Turn Sanctum Mesa into a “Democratic Monarchy” - for the most part a regular democracy, but with a hereditary royal family that can overrule the ruling parties if necessary. For example:
    - if one party manages to manipulate the voters and make them vote for the restoration of slavery, the monarch can just “Nope, not happening” and put an end to that idea
    - if the parties are in a deadlock and can't reach an agreement what to do, the monarch can say “Fine, if you can't decide on your own I will decide for you!” and break the deadlock

If at all possible she would prefer the monarch to be an elf.

    Views:
Monarchy and Democracy – best to combine the two into a Democratic Monarchy
Dictatorship – a disaster waiting to happen
Federation – a different kind of disaster waiting to happen
Economy – MIXED Economy. Mesa needs a strong military in order to keep its independence, but also a strong civilian economy to support said military. Thus a mix of civilian and military is best
Foreign relations – She would prefer for Mesa to become completely independent, but acknowledges that being a protectorate of the Asari has its advantages and so does not actively oppose it
Elves should be superior to all others, or at the very least equal
Historical justice over Dictatoriat/slavers – Minor justice. She knows from personal experience that not all slavers were horrible people, but there's no denying that some slavers were heartless monsters and need to be punished. Deliver justice to the largest and cruelest slavers and confiscate all of their belonging (Mesa needs finances, after all), but let the minor ones be

Background/history: Ilfilia comes from a village of free elves. Most people there did not get involved in the fighting between the rebels and the Dictatoriat. Infilia and her sisters were among the few exceptions - they supported the rebellion, due to a very personal reason: A rich slaver and his goons had attempted to capture, rape, and enslave them. After managing to escape largely unhurt – though they all needed new clothes – they managed to contact the rebel elves and with their help set up a trap for the slaver. The ambush worked like a charm and soon there was one less asshole slaver. The only survivor was the bastard's youngest daughter, spared because she was underage. Ilfilia took the girl as her own maid (and bed warmer, once the girl was of age).

Following this incident the three sisters served as contacts between the rebels and other people – including a few minor slavers who wanted to get out of the slavery business but could not afford to do so while the Dictatoriat was still in power. At this time Ilfilia and her sisters learned that not all slavers were bad – just most of them.

After the fall of the Dictatoriat things seemed to be going well at first. Ilfilia had an idea – supported by her sisters – to start a farm. Said farm grew quickly, soon turning into several, and things were looking up... then the ruling party fell apart.

Seeing that new leaders were needed, Ilfilia decided she would be one of them, and thus got involved with politics...

Family, relatives, and other close people:
    * Lunaria Filiel (Ilfilia's mother) and Aenil Vestiel (Ilfilia's father) – Ilfilia's parents never married officially, yet they have been living as a family for decades. They are the ones who introduced her to her fiancee.
    * Velenia Lunariel – Ilfilia's older sister, called Vele or Vel. Prefers direct action and using force to intimidate or subdue people, but recognizes that this is not always an option.
    * Kalia Lunariel – Ilfilia's younger sister, called Kal. Mischievous and deceptive, she would rather discover people's secrets and dirty laundry and then blackmail them, but sadly that is not always an option.
    * Seravil Opheliel - Ilfilia's fiancee. A voyeur elf who likes watching people have sex, including her having sex with other people. Their engagement is one of convenience – she wanted his family's money, he wanted a hot wife who would not mind if he watched her have sex with other people.
    * Vanessa - Ilfiia's personal maid, she's the youngest daughter of the slaver who tried raping Ilfilia and her sisters. During the years since her father's death she has been turned into Ilfilia's obedient and loyal maid (and later sex servant).
    * Other characters that might get mentioned: Filia (mother of Lunaria Filiel), Vestia (mother of Aenil Vestiel), Ophelia (mother of Seravil Opheliel)

    Skill:
    Seduction *
    Deception *
    Intimidation *
    Haggling *

    Resources:
Wealthy * - thanks to her fiancee she has access to a lot of money at her disposal
Prosperous Farms ** - she owns some of the largest farms on the planet that produce a significant amount of food. They are both a source of money and a source of influence over people who buy food from her farms

    Flaws:
Vengeful – she can be very vengeful when slighted and has trouble letting go of old grudges. Just ask the slaver that wanted to rape her...
Vain – she is gorgeous and she knows it. Complimenting her looks is a sure way to get on her good side, at least at first. Insulting her appearance, on the other hand, is an unforgivable offense – and considering her other flaw...

    Name: Ivar Creed
    Race: Human
    Gender: Male
    Appearance/Picture:
Political Party: Contemporary Choice League (CCL) (at least for now)
Support: Merchants and wealthy people – the former because they too want trade to grow, the latter because they seek to preserve and increase their fortunes

    Agenda:
The trade (and the money) must flow. Everything else is secondary.

    Views:
Private and public views on other agendas.
    TBA

    Background/history:
Ivar started as the third son of a poor family. Using his smarts and his skills he became a wealthy, respected merchant.

Janette Creed – Ivar's wife. She has a very similar background: Second daughter of a poor family, used her looks and her smarts to become wealthy. Ivar and Janette genuinely love and support each other.
Sophia Creed - Eldest daughter. An amoral seductress who will seduce and use anyone for the sake of increasing her family's wealth.
James Creed – The only son of Ivar and Janette, he takes after his parents and is the one most likely to inherit the family's trade business.
Amelia Creed - Second daughter. The only one in the family with any real skill in combat and tactics, and she is happy to sell her skills to the highest bidder, as long as they do not ask her to turn on her family.

Everyone in the family is greedy. There's a reason people joke that Creed is a misspelling and they are actually the Greed family...

    Skill:
Orator * - a skilled orator, he can be very persuasive with words, whether talking to a crowd or a single person
Negotiation * - a skilled negotiator, he knows how to get more favorable terms when making deals
Sense Motive * - he has gotten pretty good at sensing the true motives behind the words of the people he is talking to, allowing to know when someone is trying to deceive him

    Resources:
Small fleet of trade ships *
Well-connected * - as a merchant he has met a lot of people and has a lot of contacts
Wealthy * - as a successful merchant he has earned a lot of money

    Flaws:
Greedy – he is greedy, always trying to get more, be it money, objects, people...

I’m not sure if I’m really getting how this is supposed to work.

    Name:
    Rafael Mikas
    Race: Human/Cyborg
    [IMG]
    Political Party: The Aegis Initiative
Support: Militarists tend to be the biggest supporters, looking to increase their scope of influence as well as certain elements of the criminal underground whose interests happen to fall in line.

These things do make them generally disliked by foreign governments and seen as potentially terrorists or an eventual threat to the peace if they were to get too much power. However, lower classes of neighbouring groups do sometimes toy with the idea life would be better as part of the aspiring empire even if it might cost them their identity. But if life sucks anyway, it’s not like it could get that much worse. Elites of foreign powers don’t enjoy them and at best just want to direct them into annoying someone else if it ever comes to it.

    Agenda:
Political system – Military Dictatorship-Ultimately, in the course of things, it will all eventually default to the strongest needing to take control. To encourage anything else only enables people in positions they can’t handle.

    Economy – Command/War Economy

Foreign relations – If they aren’t part of our society, they’re inevitably going to become an enemy. Those who get with the program are okay, those who don’t, may as well be marked for conquest before they get the chance to do the same. Don’t start too many fights at once, but keep a knife on hand before theirs goes in your back first.

Elven citizens relations – You aren’t special. Cultural and religious differences are divide that can only ultimately weaken society. We should work to be carving out our own culture than cling to past traditions if we want to truly be able to unify. Unifying our own homeland first is necessary before being able to expand outwards.

Historical justice over dictatoriat/slavers – The idea of a strong leader isn’t wrong, excessive corruption is. We shouldn’t protect them from dealing with the consequences of their own incompetence. Though, fact is, to build and arm an entire fleet, a lot of prison labour is necessary to build a proper force. However, it should only be reserved to criminals and not standard treatment.

Views: Well aware that he will almost certainly never shake the view that he’s probably the dumbest person in a already insane group to opponents, he knows to use this to his advantage.

His actual views are largely what superior officers have told him, with little thought into actually thinking about them. That was true to a degree, but it also puts him in a prime position where he knows everyone thinks he will be easy to play without revealing any cards of his own.

He doesn’t have any issue with aliens and wants co existence, but sees war and conflict as inevitable if they don’t assimilate to the group.

His personal view is that cybernetics should be the standard for the population, especially if they want to draft more troops

Background/history: Captain in the navy, while not low ranking, it doesn’t seem very high to put him as the voice of the militarists, but most citizens are aware of his track record as a genuine war hero despite as some have noted that he must have lied about his age to be part of the fleet at his rank and so young.

Outfitted with military cybernetics and mostly growing up around the crowd, he absorbed their attitudes and views which he voices on behalf of the party, largely expected by admirals to be a decent scapegoat in case of backlash and dismissible.

Having spent most of his time repelling foreign raiders, he stayed out a lot of the more at home conflicts and developing a reputation. Not especially interested in politics himself, he does realize that it can be utilized into a potent weapon in the right hands.

Not going to touch points, yet, since I’m still not sure, if I’m understanding this, right.

You are setting up a new political party? You could give some description of it and it's targets would be good - in this thread. Short description and main agendas of THE PARTY - not the character... or the agenda you described is of the party? I'm not sure, so I am asking.
A character cannot be both - a politician and active military officer... maybe make him a part of para-military?
The character is little confusing (and unfinished - will require finishing if you will go with him), but I can work with that.

.The various blocks: keep friendly relations with them all but avoid joining them to preserve our independence unless something drastic happens to endanger Sanctum Mesa

    Flaws:

Not to mention, we’re not even sure if we can get wifi for the trailer, which leaves me only to use 3gs on my phone, so I probably will have to cut online time in general. Sorry.

Agenda: Greater freedom and equality within Sanctum Mesa, and a deepening ties with the Asari Republics.
    • Root out the issues of racism and radicalism.
    • Prosecute and punish former slavers and all those involved in the slave trade.
    • Ensure the continuation of democracy and the rule of law.
    • Continue to develop further economic and social ties with the Asari Republics. Privately she wishes to take further steps, aiming to fully incorporate Sanctum Mesa as another member-world of the Asari Republics.
    Views:
Political System: Democracy: This is the only way forward for a truly just society, as all need to be represented and heard.... even those degenerate humanocentrists.

Economy: Civilian: To focus upon the state at the expense of it's citizens is the height of folly. By ensuring that the inhabitants of this world are fed and prospering, we will ensure the death of radicalism and violence within our society.

Foreign Relations: Pro-Asari Block: It was Asari weapons, blood and sweat that won the day against the Dictatoriat, so it is only fitting that Sanctum Mesa repay this kindness in full by continuing to form bonds with the Asari Republics, until they are inseparable forevermore.

Elven Citizen Relations: Equality: The Elves have suffered much in their time, but despite it all they have persevered. It would be a great injustice indeed to not grant them rights which they have bled and died for.

Historical Justice: Full Justice: The institution of slavery is a moral abomination that has destroyed millions of innocents over the course of it's dark history. It would be the greatest of failings for this Republic to not prosecute all those involved with the foul trade to the fullest extent of the law.

Background/history: Tylani spent her Maiden youth in the Asari military, becoming a skilled huntress over the next few decades of service. During the time of the War she took part in the campaign upon Sanctum Mesa, fighting valiantly to liberate the planet from Dictatoriat rule. During this campaign she would suffer a grievous injury and shortly after her recovery be discharged from the military. While this left her aimlessly wandering for many months, she eventually decided to settle upon Sanctum Mesa following the War's end. She and her fellow huntresses had shed so much blood and sweat for that world, that she simply could not allow it to fall apart in the peace that followed.

It has only been a short few years since then, but Tylani has managed to establish herself as one of the foremost members within the Pro-Asari Block and the LEV. Thanks to her business connections various galas, parties and charity events are hosted across a number of penthouse and estate properties she has invested into over the years, mingling with others of high society and building connections for her next political moves.

Despite all the effort she has put into the Republic however, it stubbornly refuses to change, and the Asari senator is steadily running out of patience...

    Skill:
    Charm: **
    Subterfuge: *
    Combatant: *

    Resources:
Asari Corporate Connections (**): Thanks to a century of service, Tylani has built up an impressive web of corporate acquaintances and contacts, all of whom are eager to financially support her so long as she in turn continues to lobby for their interests, and the interests of the Republics of course.

Political Following (*): Tylani has made it no secret she wishes to see former slavers and their ilk punished harshly, perhaps even more so than most members of the LEV. This hardline stance has given her a solid base of Asari and Elven constituents, ensuring her continued reelection.

    Flaws:

Hedonistic Lifestyle (*): While she would hate to admit it, Tylani may have gotten a bit spoiled over the past decade. Her new fortune and a lack of purpose following her retirement gave her the opportunity to experiment, and now she simply cannot stop. Fine food and drink, sexual company, stimulents of all kinds take up much of her spare time, and it is starting to show. To put it plainly, she has really let herself go, and her mental image as the perfect Huntress no longer reflects reality.
-Severe pleasure addiction, be it food, sex or drugs. Add a penalty to any strenuous physical activities.

Memories of The War (*): In public Tylani presents herself as the champion of equality, but in private there is no denying she has trouble conversing and socialising with those she sees as supporters of the old Dictatoriat, be they nationalists, authoritarians or monarchists. In her mind they all yearn for something which the Asari spilled blood and sacrificed comrades to destroy, and she simply cannot look past that.
-Add a penalty when conversing with any character known for various anti-democratic or pro-Dictatoriat stances.
