"Very well." Charlotte nodded. "I will organise a meeting with a rebel leader. Two-three days should be enough for it." She started tapping on the datapad.
It was two days later, when Blake found himself in the factory again. Charlotte found a person who was a representative of the rebels. "They recently had one of their major bases raided. Many were captured and either enslaved or executed." She reported. "That means that they are in a desperate position... you can push for more favourable terms." The two stood in front of the conference room. "Squeez them dry." Charlotte's smile was a shark-like. Blake entered the conference room - as requested, the talks would go one on one. That did not change the fact that there were secret cameras installed in this room as well as couple of turrets, ready to deploy on his order. As Blake entered the conference room and door closed behind him, he found himself facing the representative of the rebel faction, sitting on the table and waiting for him. One, Mercedes Tejedor. Looking at her, he noticed that she was most probably unarmed - it would be hard to hide weapons on her with those clothes. "Welcome, senator Blake Orange. I am Mercedes Tejedor." She introduced herself. Spoiler: Awareness 14 - success It was easy to notice, that the woman dressed lightly... with exception of her high-heeled boots. Those were little out of place. If she wanted to hide a weapon, it would be there...
Jean set aside her uncertainties about the woman as she always did. Rie could hold whatever opinion of her she desired so long as the brothel manager did as Jean desired. She did curse her luck under her breath however. "Thank you Rie, I'll take whatever information you have on the senator." With any luck that wasn't bad there would be something in there she could use as leverage in her negotiations. She'd have to figure something else out with Villegas. "That was all I was looking for, but before I let you go is there anything you feel may need my attention?"
Just as the connection finished, ALYSSA addressed her. "Senator, there might be something that might be worthy of your attention." she said as she turned on the video screen. On it, Jean saw riots happening. The streets were almost on fire and - what? Thery reported that Jacob was the one who started it? As she watched her comlink came to life - her husband was calling.
Blake smiles at her before he speaks "Pleasure to meet you Miss Mercedes and welcome to Sanctum Mesa i hope that you had a pleasant journey here without any problems"Says Blake in a friendly tone
"Just Mercedes, will do." The woman smiled, as she got up from the table. As the dress hugged her, Blake guessed that she was not wearing a bra. "Not at all, Mr Orange." She said with a pleasant voice as she stood in front of him. "I heard, that you had something to offer, Mr Orange."
"Yes indeed i have Mercedes and that is a partnership a cooperation name it what you will , as you can see i produce weapons and i heard that you and your friends are in need of them "Says Blake while looking Mercedes in the eyes
"Dont worry i know that i know that your friends are not that heavy on money so i can take ores in payment i heard that the state is quite rich in ores so it should not be that big of a problem for you guys and when you and your friends achieve success you wont forget your good friend lets say it like that "Says Blake to Mercedes
"Extracting those ores is not exactly easy. Hundreths of people were sent to the mines to mine them - many died." She bit her lip, as she pondered the request. "What exact details, are we talking about? The rate of exchange?" She asked. Normally, depending on the kind of ore, the exchange would be a create of Zarium for four create of small arms. But knowing that the rebels were desperate, Blake could push for more... or offer more, depending on how he would want to go about it...
"I will not lie to you Mercedes normally it would be 1 create of Zarium for 4 create of small arms. But i heard of the recent blow your group has taken and that you are on shacy grounds and i am wiling to make that 1 to 5 if you are wiling to make some concession of your own"Says Blake staring at Mercedes
The woman blinked surprised. "That's... generous." She then narrowed her eyes. "And... what concessions would those be?" She asked.
"No need to be worried about it it not much its mostly things that affect you guys in the future if you win your conflict that is ,like some tax reduction a mansion a business or two .I feel that my offer its more that generous especially since my offer counts on you guys winning your conflict which is not guaranteed especially now with the recent blow your group suffered. Now Mercedes tell me is my offer fair or not"Says Blake in a calm tone while looking at Mercedes
Blake smiles "Who knows maybe i have a very generous heart on me , or maybe i want you and your people as friends ,or perhaps your beauty caught me of guard and i cant help myself but to do this , or i just simply just liked the sound of 1 to 5 better that 1 to 4 .But my motive is not important even if i told you why you have no way of knowing if i lied or not so lets get past that. What is important is are accepting the offer "He says before he raises his hand for a handshake and waits for her move
Mercedes snorted. "Not likely. What are you after, really after." She asked suspiciously. As he extended his hand, she considered it hesitating. "If small preferential treatment is all you want, we can agree..." She squeezed his hand and shook it with a smile.
"I am glad you accepted ,now that we struck a deal would you like a drink or are you in a hurry to go back"Blake says to Mercedes
"Bloody hell..." Jean cursed before she opened up her comlink. "Darling what's happened?" she asked her husband. "I've just seen footage of a riot and they're saying Jacob started it!?"
Mercedes hesitated. "A drink." She said slowly. "And if we could go over the first delivery." She said as she walked up to one of the seats, with a sway of her hips, before sitting down.
