Geng Xinya nodded. "Apparently, there was a group of survivors in one of the villages. The Bloody Fang sect found them... apparently, those who were captured, were exectured in the village's square. I was said it was made to look like an impressive show..." He said.
Seeing the necklace confirmed her suspicions...but it still presented a problem. "Then he's not native to the village. Which means our best bet will be the city like we planned. Merchants and traders have to pass through there eventually, to buy and sell. Someone knows this man and does business with him. We'll just get more clues as we go along. It's the simple rules of adventuring, isn't?"
Spoiler: ? 32-fail Mulan was hiding the map- "Is that the loot you took from the body." She froze as she suddenly heard a male voice behind her. It seemed that she was simply not fast enough. The battle was already over.
"Zhelan's sword?" She hummed. "I don't know all of it's abilities, but I do know it allowed her to hide in shadows in the moment of strike. It's assassin's blade." The woman answered.
Spoiler: Awareness/Intelligence 58 - success As she finished speaking, something brought her attention to the necklace Fu Dai was holding... she just could not put her finger on what it could be...
"I see." Luo Fei nods as she listened, "Interesting, if that's how it works, then I shall need to work on my swordplay." She replied, how quick strikes, and footwork will be needed to truly utilize the sword's effects. "Thank you, I shall put it to good use."
Mulan take a battle position to make cultivator, even if she didn't have high chances to win, she won't going to give up so easily. "Hmm... Did you let me go if I give it to you or you won't leave any witness?" She asked, knowing very well if he attack her, she have low chances of surviving.
The woman smiled and waved Luo Fei off. "No problem." She said shortly. They walked for the rest of the day, until, around afternoon, they arrived at heir destination. "We are at the place." Zhu Hua said. "I heard that the local lord has a problem with an awakened beast. We hunt it down, and take a bounty." She said as she made her way to the closest guard."
She knew there was something to this…but she knew too little of the nature of it to say what. It probably would just have to be dealt with, as it comes. “We should get a move on the roads to our first stop before nightfall and the risk of bandits or getting lost.”
"An awakened beast?" Luo Fei raises an eyebrow as she tries to recall what those were. "Very well, I will provide as much assisstance as I can." She replied with a smile, as she follows behind Zhu Hua. Luo Fei looks at their surrounding, trying to see what sort of town they were in.
Mulan kick to him map and brancle. "Here you are. Good day to you." She said as she slowly stepped away. Sure, she lost chance for bigger loot, but she can't read that map and didn't know what these brancle can do. Better lost this than life. "By the way, what is your name? How long time it takes you to reach that level?" She asked, as curiosyty win in her with fear.
Luo Fei remembered that awakened beasts are animals that broke through their limit - similar to cultivators. With time, they could become very dangerous. "Welcome." Zhu Hua addressed the guard as they approached. "I heard that you have a problem with the awakened beast." She said. "Ah, yes we had. But it was killed." The man answered. "Killed?" Zhu Hua asked, surprised. "Indeed! A few days ago a travelling cultivator, Madam Mulan, killed it as she passed through our lands." The man said with joy and some admiration in his voice.
The man took the loot. At her question, a small smile graced his lips. "Depends on the person." He answered easily as he checked the items. The map seemed to be the thing that took most of his attention.
Mulan decided to step closer to him. "Of course it depends on person, but how long take you? Who teach you this or you learn it all by yourself?" She asked as he study the map. She give last look at the map, in last attempt to understand this or at least remember.
"The Bloody Fang's been busy, then." Hayami frowns thoughtfully. "If there's no survivors, we should stay away from there. I'm in no mood to get executed."
"Interesting." Luo Fei hummed, thinking about the prospect of fighting such a beast. Perhaps its fur, or fangs can be made in to equipment? She thought to herself, while Zhu Hua was speaking to the guard. But, as they were informed that the beast had already been killed, "Eh?" Luo Hua was surprised, recognizing the name Mulan. Could it be the same as my fellow outer disciple? She thought to herself, looking at her companion to see her reaction.
Before she can take a look, the man rolled up the map. "Now, why should I answer that question?" He asked with a small chuckle.
Lian Cai frowned. "Would they attack us, through?" She asked uncertainly. "After we added them?" "Shh!" Geng Xinya hushed her and looked around, making sure that they were alone. "No reason to spread it around." He said nervously.
