Anyone else feel seen or called out?

Saw this SNL skit and couldn't help but think about all of us "Janitor Mikes" on CHYOA and elsewhere on the internet.

P.S. This post isn't meant to be a dig on anyone here, fanfic writers, or erotica. Great writers are all around and in all types of genres, but sometimes it really is just a random excuse to write about sexy times with [insert your favorite or popular celeb/fandom character here].

    Happy writing everyone!

But yeah, I have felt like I've been called out before in the past.

A writing tutor of mine was listing some common faults found in writing, or on how authors would do this and that when it's not welcomed.

A few of those times, I feel like I've been called out specifically, but while I've been shrugged off, it has demotivated me from time to time.

I used to write for some erotic games on Patreon, so I've been called out for my writing by name! That kinda stinks, but no writing is going to please everyone. I try to hew to Vonnegut's 8 rules (https://www.writingclasses.com/toolbox/tips-masters/kurt-vonnegut-8-basics-of-creative-writing) and the rule "Write to please just one person. If you open a window and make love to the world, so to speak, your story will get pneumonia." is what I come back to in that situation. That one person I write for is me, if anyone else likes it that's gravy.
