It's been a while. Sorry to anyone whose RPG I tanked by suddenly dropping out of existence. Anyway, I'm back and I'm planning on doing some actual writing this time; and despite having a mile-long backlog of stories I should be adding to, I've decided to start working on a new project. To work on this project, I need an answer to an oddly specific question: what are the most common types of content under the "BDSM" tag? Yes, this includes stories just tagged "BDSM" because the author was too lazy to change it.
Do you mean catagory? I don't know if I've seen any stories accidentally tagged BDSM. I think (without bothering to do any real research) that the most common stories are about men tying/enslaving women, sometimes with women also acting on their behalf. This are stories about kidnappings, x becoming a sex slave, or guy stumbling across a submissive woman. The next most common grouping seems to be women over powering men, i.e. ballbusting, female bullies, horde of horny women. This don't have so much bodage and usually have the ladies being physically stronger than the men or are very demanding. There are also plenty of stories with a sci fi or fantasy setting that are really lore heavy to get a nice amount of wish fulfillment with the use of zombies, vampires, magic artifacts, or space travel. I know that's an over simplification, and that there are more exceptions than examples of these types, but I hope this helps.
Yes, it does help. I'm working on a story (inspired by one I saw that was marked "BDSM/1st person/female", despite being "Fan Fiction/3rd person/both") where I don't change any of the default settings, work out my plot(s) based on what's most common on CHYOA, and try and work with that. So I appreciate getting some idea about what's popular on CHYOA, since I usually spend most of my time in the Fantasy tag.
Of the stories lazily put in the BDSM catagory, I think most of the ones I've seen feel like vanilla sand box stories. For example "girl moves somewhere what will she do?" or "boy goes to college who will he fuck?"
