I view the act of writing as more important then what you write. So yes, it can be easy to get hung up on a particular story and just get stuck.

This is also why I recommend to not start publishing until you have written a clear path to the ending to avoid that exact issue. But then again that's an advice I don't always heed myself lol

On the other hand, the pressure of needing to release on the regular can help keep you going.

...Or it may turn your hobby into a chore.

I've done both: finish first then publish, or publish chapter-by-chapter as you go (while keeping a small buffer for unexpected setbacks). YMMV!

I'm glad you're writing for the story contest! I found doing mine ungunked me a bit and I'm back to work on one of my games. Hope it does the same, ungunking you when you finish!

Don’t really feel “back”, but glad to know I’m not completely dead in the water. Hopefully I can get back to writing consistently!

Feel bad for my readers… haven’t been able to write a thing as of late. I have ideas, just struggle to put them to the page! Feels bad….

One thing that confuses me is my chapters’ views; like, they go from, say, 200~ to 150~ to 200~ to 150~ etc etc… who is skipping?! So weird!

That's what changed a TON between my first story branch (the mid one), the one I made pre 3-month-break (long story, I'll lore drop eventually) and the ones that came after (the two I consider actually well-made); clickbait. I built those early chapters around catching people's attention and giving them what they want (sex) as fast as possible. Now I try to make a real story :)

I usually name my chapters whatever first comes to mind; sometimes that’s a rambling sentence, sometimes it’s a pun. 99% of the time it’s comedic in nature

There are several reasons why the numbers might go up and down. E.g. hub chapters (loops), branching points, links from other sites, publishing multiple chapters at once, ...

Took 50ish chapters, but ‘I am NOT a Hero!’ got a sex scene (like, outside of hand/mouth stuff)! I’ve done it! Full degeneracy achieved!!!!!

Maybe this is novice-writer of me, but I hadn’t written down anything for my story (character bios, background info, etc), it was all in 1/

Me too, I don't really have a storyboard or plot in mind most of the time, I just write from where I am at the moment. Often when I'm writing, I find that I'm daydreaming scenarios that could only take place about 6,000 words later. I also sometimes have to refer to old chapter to keep track of previously mentioned plot point like the date, weather, enviroment, etc.

I think a good solution would be a sort of 'Author's notes' chapter that we could jot down plot points in, things we'd need to keep track of.

I actually just finished going through my story as though I was a reader, taking notes the entire time (both for what’s happened and what’s to come). It was an incredibly bizarre experience to attempt to perceive my own work as a viewer, but I definitely think I have a better hold than I did previously lol. I even got some new ideas!

If I could add images the image would have been the reaction image of the black kid with his hands on his head

Fellas call that the 'No way'.
Incidentally, it was my exact reaction to you not knowing it was called 'No way'.
