Mood control: what do you do?

I try very hard to write something every day, even on those days where I'm to tired and I'm not forcing it, I'll go in and maybe edit my story or something and try to add a few sentences. Even if it's just two hundred words of crap, it's not wasted, I'm keeping the muscle memory in shape. When...

Which dead story would you most like to see come back to life?

I don't know that one, I'll have to check it out.

Which dead story would you most like to see come back to life?

I'm not talking zombies here, I mean stories that are unfinished leaving readers clambering for more. Mine is My Daughter's New Boyfriend by Wilparu.

Mood control: what do you do?

Tiredness kills my mood more than anything else, and there's not much that can be done about that save from rest and sleep, but that's not always possible with a hectic schedule. I've learned to go with the flow, if I'm tired, I just don't bother trying to write. I've long since given up trying...

How do you pick between contributing to a branch vs making a new story?

It's interesting to see how other people approach writing for CHYOA, I love the little peek behind the curtain of how you do things. I'm kind of the opposite in my approach I think. Right now I have a list of about 10 story ideas I want to write, all of them are just basic kernels of an idea...

How do you pick between contributing to a branch vs making a new story?

I rarely, if ever, contribute a thread to another persons story, I always prefer writing my own. Perhaps it's the control I have over my work or maybe I just want to keep the lime light to myself, I'm not too sure what the reason is really. I wouldn't rule it out in the future, but it would have...

Is it possible to block someone from posting on your story?

As far as I'm aware it's not possible to do it yourself, but if you DM the site admin they can block for you.

I didn't know you could do that!

    AI Pics

You're correct, that is what I want, and you've confirmed my suspicions that it will be difficult to impossible to achieve. (SPOILER ALERT FOR PROJECT HAREM) I'm writing a major scene where 5 women in my story (all of whom are based on IRL porn models) go to a fancy dress ball. I thought it...

    AI Pics

Does anyone know of a good AI site for producing pics? I know there are some good ones out there, and I've played around with a few and had mixed results. What I am looking for is a site that will produce pics of a certain person in a certain outfit/pose. It doesn't have to be porn though...

    Which do you prefer

This is spot on. The two times I’ve worked with other authors there’s a hell of a lot of conversation about what we’d write and the direction it would go. And that’s the fun part, bouncing ideas of each other is a wonderful experience.

    Show, don't tell

I think this is the mistake I see most often on CHYOA and it's the one that makes me instantly click onto another story. So what is show, don't tell? I've taken the excerpt below from the website, Reedsy. (I can highly recommend Reedsy, it's a wealth of writing knowledge and tips). In his...

Give the 1st draft time to rest

I think this is the best advice I've ever had, it works so well for me. When I write a chapter for CHYOA (or anything else to be fair) once it's done I'll give it one read through and edit then leave it for at least 2 days, but longer is better. Once you've left the draft to rest and go back...

    Just Write

Excellent advice. Writing is a habit and even if you just write a few lines it keeps the muscle memory topped up.

    POV and Protagonist Gender

3rd was always my default but I seem to have slowly moved to 1st. I love the idea of a story told entirely through correspondence. I can't think of them now but I know there are books written entirely as letters, and more recently as emails. It's a great premise, I'd love to read it.

    POV and Protagonist Gender

I'm developing an idea for a new story and I'm at the bit where I try to figure out what POV I'm going to use. I don't like writing in 2nd, so that leaves 1st and 3rd. I'm also working on the protagonist's character and right now have the option for them to be either male or female. I'm...

Is it worth writing an incest story any more?

It’s as good a theory as any I’ve heard!

Is it worth writing an incest story any more?

I may be wrong but I think it started with Patreon picking up on the stuff they didn’t like and cancelling the chyoa account. Then it was a challenge to find a payment system that accepted the various categories.
