Is it worth writing an incest story any more?

"Yay visa, keeping us safe from the perils of werewolf knot" This made me laugh out loud! Thank you for that.

Is it worth writing an incest story any more?

The whole thing is bizarre to me. I mean, this is lead by an ethics rampage by credit card companies of all things. I would argue that a bunch of people witting about incest is far less harmful than credit card companies tempting people into debt they can't afford. As for Step Fantasy...it's...

Is it worth writing an incest story any more?

What was party time all about? We're in a run up to an election here so I automatically thought 'ooh, a politics category' ! But seriously, what was the party category and why would it be binned? And Intelligent Species too, why would that be binned? (I'm guessing it may have been used to...

    Which do you prefer

I generally prefer to write on my own, I rarely add to another author's stories. I have had a couple of people work with me on my stories and add to them though, which has worked well because we collaborated very closely on the content.

Is it worth writing an incest story any more?

There is a thread on the forum somewhere, but I can’t locate it. I can’t remember what the categories were, just that incest was one of them, there were only a few though I think. Maybe message Friedman and he can advise.

Is it worth writing an incest story any more?

Oh wow, I didn't realise that there was a step fantasy category now. Is that new? That could work for me, I might give it a go. I've always said that first and foremost I write for me, which is still true. But over the years I've grown accustomed to interacting with the readers and I miss...

    Looking for an incest story

Yup, that was one of mine!

Is it worth writing an incest story any more?

My preferred category for writing stories was always incest (Family). Then the category was taken down from the main page and the likes and comments on my stories dropped off a cliff. So I penned another story in the Erotic Couplings genre which has done fairly well. I'm now working on ideas...

Do you like 1st or 3rd person

I know how you feel, I've been there where I'm too far down the road to change POV but really wanted to. I did 3rd for my most recent story for similar reasons, I had two characters and wanted the reader to see inside both of their heads. But also because I've done a ton of 1st recently and...

Do you like 1st or 3rd person

I love first, it's my go to, it really helps to get my head in the character I'm writing.

Have an Idea for a story need input

The best story about the Kardashians would be where they go and live in a log cabin in the middle of nowhere and they are never heard from again. (Sorry, had to get a Kardashians dig in!)

Do you like 1st or 3rd person

I think you're right, it does suit CHYOA very well. For reasons that escape me though, I just have this aversion to 2nd POV, not sure why but it just grates on me.

Do you like 1st or 3rd person

Depends on what I’m writing, but over all I think I prefer 1st. I hate 2nd with a passion!

An editing rod for my back

Not keeping to the requested POV would be a big issue for me, I'd reject the chapters. As for going back and changing the mix up...for me it would depend on how big the mix up was versus how complicated/long winded it would be to fix it. If it were an easy fix I think I'd do it.

This has totally never happened to me. Honest.

An editing rod for my back

I definitely learned early to pick names that are easy to write, I think this is the reason you see so few double barrelled first names in stories! I have favourites too, Elizabeth and it's variations feature a lot in my work, as does Katie, Jack and Max. Also names that are flowers, Poppy and...

    Most typical feedback patterns

The only I think you missed is the like and comment every chapter, I've got one or two who do that and I'm eternally grateful that they do. I admit to being swayed by likes. If a story I enjoy writing bombs with very low likes I'll probably not continue it, where as if one I don't enjoy so...

What to do when you feel stuck?

I've lost count of how many great plots, wonderful characters and brilliant ideas I've had that I was sure would be my best work yet. Only to then hit a brick wall early in the process. I'd estimate that 80% of the ideas I try to develop don't make it past the first chapter or two and don't get...

An editing rod for my back

When I first started writing my latest story, Project Harem, I named my main character Jessica. In dialogue with other characters, it seemed natural that they would call her Jess for short. But for reasons that now escape me, in the narrative I continued calling her by her full name, Jessica...

what do you use to backup your work?

I write on word docs and keep them on my laptop, every so often I back up my lap top to an external hard drive. To be fair when I started doing this it was because I find it easier to write on word than directly onto CHYOA. And I can use Grammarly on a word doc. The fact that it means all my...
