Mostly it depends on the file size of the gifs though if it is slow to load you could always maybe add it later in the text so that by the time the reader reaches that point in the story it has already loaded in.

I tend to write mostly male, write what you know, but have added female branches from time to time when the main character wasn't around and want to just show things from a girls POV.

I ran a poll on this once on one of my stories with 1st person POV getting the most votes at close to 50%. The you POV is suppose to put readers in the shoes of the protagonist but it can also leave the main character feeling a little bland in my opinion.
