I look into Lexi’s eyes. “That Europeans work to live and Americans live to work?” I giggle a bit, acting shy and demure. “I like both men and women. Well, I like one particular woman.”

I begin in my best hurt voice. “Lexi, there’s no other girl, I swear.” I gently nudge the older blonde away from the man. “And what did you mean by reputation? I hope you are prejudging me based on the worst of my countrymen.”

I smile at the sexy librarian, noticing how flustered she is getting. I lean in close enough to smell her perfume, my breath evident on the flesh of her neck as I speak. “Well, if you would like to dance, we can head to a club or perhaps a late dinner if you are hungry.”

I take out a pen and write my number on the page of one of his books. “Call me some night. I must warn you, I’m what we Americans call a night owl, so please wait till after the sun goes down,” With that, I saunter off to wait on Lexi.

I push the blood onto my cheeks to blush. “She is a very nice woman. I’m trying to get to know her better. By the way, may I call you Peter? I find it difficult to pronounce certain Polish words.”
