Where is the line between drama and melodrama?

Wow, respect for that endurance. I like some "so bad their good" movies, especially if there are wise-cracking robots watching with me. But "The Room" is just in the bad category, at least for me. Thank you very much for reading my chapter and your constructive criticism. It is greatly...

How deep do you write before posting?

I usually write one paragraph and then post it. Since I am a slow writer, and a terrible proof-reader, I rarely have multiple chapters that could be posted at 0ne time. If I did, I would spread them out over time; probably every half day or 24 hours.

Thank you. I was just curious. I have to do a fair bit of writing for my job, especially with regards to the liberal arts (history, politics, philosophy, etc.) It is usually in the past tense, but when it comes to fiction (which I have no background in) the past tense just doesn't feel natural...

I am curious, do you know why you write in the past tense? Awhile ago I was adding to another author's story, but he insisted that I always write in the past tense. Of course I acquiesced, since it was his story, but I couldn't post many chapters because writing in the past tense for fiction...

    Advice for beginners?

I am so curious why you wrote this. Are you suggesting writing erotica will lead to porn-addiction? Or that it will hurt your career if you are a writer? This is not a complaint in anyway, but your sentence intrigues me to no end, but I don't understand it.

Where is the line between drama and melodrama?

When do you know you have pushed the drama of a story too far and gone into melodrama? I just finished a pretty emotional chapter and I can't tell if it was very dramatic (children dying, medical drama, tear-jerking marriage proposals) or has gone too far into the silliness of melodrama. This...

    Blind Date with Catwoman

I asked this generically in another thread, but let me ask it about "Catwoman" in particular . . . Which would you prefer: 1) I work on one major story branch, frequently giving only single options, until it ends with an epilogue. 2) Try to fill out a branch focusing on giving at least two...

Thank you. I actually downloaded grammarly a few days ago and it really doesn't catch the mistakes I make. To give one example from a comment I recently posted, I wrote: "To things. First,. . . I am a bit dyslectic and though I greatly enough the creative aspects of writing" Grammarly did...

Lol, I was going to write "how do you know I am not a priest", but by the time the "post reply" loaded you had edited your comment. Seriously, I wasn't judging your post or you. I am dyslectic and am terrible at proofreading. It greatly bothers me that my horrific spelling and grammar would...
