Am I missing something or did the search function change? I cannot see where we can refine by chapter. I was kind of depending on this feature to help me score the "NaNoWriMo 2019: Chyoa Edition". The search bar still says "Search for sex stories, chapter, and authors", but for the life of me...

Yeah, that's not cool at all. I hope it doesn't skew your image of the community here too badly. The majority here are generally pretty nice in my experience.

As a serious answer...I don't even know where to begin. I've written Thwompette fanfic ffs! lol Writing has certainly helped me explore the deepest corners of my mind, that is for sure.

I write exclusively vanilla missionary position scenes featuring heterosexual cis married couples. Lights always off and sex done only for procreation. As God intended.

Some great points there Zeebop! One I'd like to add for new writers here is to read your reader comments carefully. Try to separate the more "objective" ones from the more "subjective" ones. If the comments have constructive criticism about your style or pacing or plot issues or such things...

I highly doubt you'll piss off the mods for that. From my experience the folks around here are pretty cool. Just put in bold letters at the top of your first page RETURN TO DRAFT MODE or something like that and they should see it. If they publish it you can still ask one of the big wigs to...

Pantser absolutely. Sometimes I have a plot point or a scene I am aiming at, but I don't sweat it too much if it changes along the way. It is much more about the journey than the destination for me.

I started a proper point by point response...but I just don't have the energy. LOL In my opinion the current system is not perfect but it is simple and easy to measure. The popularity of something indicates that there is something there that a lot of people enjoy. Quality is much more tricky...

I never took it as such. gc_midnight was nothing but positive and friendly in our interactions. And he said my writing is great right there! :) I just didn't want the impression out there that I didn't deliver what I was asked for. Just wanted it crystal clear.

Hmm, yeah. A drop down menu with "Highest Rated" (most likes), "Most Viewed" (view count), "Highest Quality" (likes per view), "Hottest New Story", etc might be a pretty great idea. Maybe get rid of the Top Stories list altogether.
