I think 4 is a good idea. I'm not that keen on the rest. I definitely agree with the above quote, the top ten stories get year round real estate on the front page. Deservedly so! But they probably don't need another spot as well.

In my only semi-informed personal opinion, this site could be SO much bigger that it currently is and I think one of the things holding it back directly relates to the 10,000 story thing. As a writer I freaking LOVE this site, I'm damn near addicted to it. As a reader...less so...much less so...

It's not a waste of time if you are interested in it. If you like the idea run with it, write like crazy. Even if no one else likes it that doesn't mean it was a waste of time. You made something you liked and got to practice your writing in the meantime. Amen to that! I find the readers...

I love this idea! I have no knowledge of variables and whatnot but I think this idea has a lot of potential. My only suggestion would be to just get to writing while the fire is in you. Don't let the technical stuff slow down the writing part of it. You don't have to publish anything yet but...

Yeah, I suspect we all get this. There are two things I can think of. First is that a 'favorite' doesn't necessarily mean they like the story, just they want to keep an eye on it. Maybe they think the story has potential but they don't quite like it yet or maybe they want to come back to it...

@Barty. I wouldn't mind the whole award system just get taken out myself. Gamification often leads to gaming the game. If that makes sense. For example, Addicted and Serial Writer seems to encourage spamming quick chapters and creating soon to be abandoned stories. But I understand the game...

Your chapters looked good to me! I did want to say, not so much as feedback but as a warning, that I have found SPH stuff to be a real flashpoint among my readers. Of the different taboos and fetishes I play with this is the one by far the most likely to spark up negative comments and PMs...

More options are always good. Fonts in particular would be nice for highlighting or differentiating certain segments. I would worry a little about the readability if different stories and chapters had all of these different fonts, but that is something the writer would need to be aware of...

Just wanted to bump this thread. I have noticed the same issue as Duskford reported above. I tend to use italics pretty frequently, sometimes for an aside as the author or what have you. Hope it is cleared up soon, some of my chapters won't even makes sense without italics.

I am ALL IN on moaning and talking during the sex scenes. Especially if there is a taboo or something being broken, I really want to emphasize that point to the max. Just my personal taste though.

I don't do it often but I definitely go back and touch things up from time to time. Never anything big though. Sometimes there will be little details I forgot to add or put in small moments of foreshadowing or fix potential plot holes. Generally it is just to fill it out and make it better...
