I think there is a bit of a misunderstanding here with 'born gender' and 'preferred gender' as well. If I was born with a gender, it never matched the sex, not gender, I was assigned at birth. Gender queer isn't my 'preferred' gender. It is my gender, or at least the closest approximation of it...
