Removal of quick links to chapter and story

Thanks, that’s helpful to know. Is there anything you would change or improve about those links when they return?

Removal of quick links to chapter and story

I wasn’t entirely sure whether those quick links were still being used much, but I’m happy to bring them back. Would you prefer to have both My Stories and My Latest Chapters back, or was there only one of them that you regularly used? What would make the most sense for you? I changed Top...

    Hiding categories

Thanks for raising this, and welcome to CHYOA! I understand your concern. I made the change because showing all 32 categories created a large wall that pushed the rest of the homepage far down. The selection isn’t fixed. It updates daily based on story views within each category over the...

Notifications for activity on Introduction chapters need to use the story's title!!!!!

Thanks for the suggestions! I’ve updated notifications so that: - Activity on an Introduction chapter now uses the story’s title. - Chapter-related notifications show the chapter depth, such as “Chapter 36.” - Notifications for newly published chapters also show the chapter’s word count when...

    Post bug reports here!

I’ve taken another look at this and found an issue with the scheduled view-count updates. I’ve made some changes that should fix it properly now. Please let me know if you notice it happening again.

I like the new web UI (June 2026)

Thanks for the suggestion! We’ve expanded the variable documentation with more details about variable types, ordering, conditions, and missing values. Updated pages: - Reader and Game Variables: https://chyoa.com/chapter/Reader-and-Game-Variables.260239 - Conditional Branches...

    Post bug reports here!

Thanks for the clear example. I’ve fixed that now, so the button should update cleanly in place when the condition changes.

I like the new web UI (June 2026)

Thanks for the suggestion! I’ve kept the option to read from the beginning and added another option for readers who open the Story Map from a chapter. They can now select a later chapter on that path and continue reading from their current chapter.

Feature request: poll all results visible not just the top result

Thanks for the suggestion! I’ve added a “Preview current results” toggle for chapter authors and story staff, so they can see the rankings while the results remain hidden from readers until the configured time.

    Post bug reports here!

Thanks for the report, and especially for testing. There was no intended limit on action button logic. The rich-text editor was misreading compact comparisons like game:roll<game:size as HTML when reopening the chapter, which caused the text to be cut off. I’ve updated the editor handling so...

Bug: Stories sorted by title aren't alphabetical?

Thanks for the report. I looked into this and noticed that the story in question had spaces in front of the title, which caused it to be sorted differently. It should be fixed for this particular story now. I also added a fix that strips empty spaces from the beginning and end of story titles...

Feature Request: Pathing from Story Map

Thanks for the suggestion. I’ve implemented this now. In the story map, you can use the icon on the right side of a chapter and choose Read Path from Start. It will then start from the beginning and guide you through which choices to take to reach that chapter.

I like the new web UI (June 2026)

You’re right. That notification was created before the change went live, so its saved link only points to the chapter itself, not to the specific comment. New comment/like/reply notifications should include a #comment-... anchor now, which lets the page load the comments and scroll to the right...

Feature request: poll all results visible not just the top result

Thanks for the report. I checked, and the chapter poll itself should show all results once they’re visible to you. The poll list pages only show the top/current leader as a summary. Can you share a screenshot or describe what you’re seeing, and where?

Request: Sorting polls has closed polls sorted so latest are at the top of closed.

Thanks for explaining the use case. I have implemented this now. Open polls should still show in the order of their upcoming close date, but closed polls are now sorted with the latest closed polls first, so they should be easier to use as a to-do list.

I like the new web UI (June 2026)

Thanks for the feedback. I’ve removed the author line, since the author is always you in this list anyway. That should save some space already. I’ll also check if I can improve the layout further.

I like the new web UI (June 2026)

I think it just takes a moment until the comments are loaded, and then it scrolls down. Can you check?

Thanks for the suggestion. I’ve implemented this now: “your comment” should link directly to the liked comment itself.
