That is a good point, and not one I'd considered. I'd probably make it more than 5. I was thinking like 10 or 20 chapter stories.

Ahh, I obviously didn't read the original post closely enough and missed it was for comments. I'd kind of assumed that it was for gamemode and would be integrated into the 'score'/variable comparisons that already exist. So, why do you need random numbers in comments?

Wow... Surely you can just store the total number of likes exactly as they are now, and when you display/calculate the totals for an author you just use half (rounded to the nearest integer) of whatever the value is for a shared story/page. Or are likes also stored directly against an author to...

Indeed, which was why I was extremely careful and thought about the special cases when I did it myself, but I still had to go through every chapter one at a time, copy paste find replace copy paste update silent save. I don't want to have to do that again! :)

I'm thinking that you can click on each summarised entry to show all the individual notifications within, so this shouldn't be an issue... Perhaps the full notification list stays exactly as it is, and just the tooltip version is the summarised digest. Edit: Oh, speaking of which, that tooltip...

Oh yes, definitely if the one author has created them all. In my examples I had 4 different authors adding to/creating 3 different stories.

It'd be good if it aggregated all similar items since the notifications where last viewed, so you'd get something like: Author1 added 50 new chapters to somestory Author2 added 10 new chapters to somestory and updated 5 chapters Author3 added 2 new chapters to anotherstory You received 50000...

Yea, it would be complicated though probably really useful. I'd be happy if it wasn't usable on small devices but I guess if the feature was there people would want to use it on their phones. Using a separate flowchart solution works, but just means I have to make sure I keep it up to date...

A good workaround, but I agree, I'd like it enabled by default, and preferably with the option for unavailable chapters to not show up at all. I'm not really wanting to make a game with it, just use it for more complicated stories so I don't have to have multiple threads with the same text...
