    Confessions

    * I am deeply vexed that someone on here told me about the text based game "Female Agent." After seeing what that guy makes off Patreon I am greatly tempted to try something similar, but that could be dangerous.

Do you like reading stories with Conditions? (i.e. "Start Game")

Suggestion: What do you think about labeling chapter titles that heavily use conditions to view certain dialogues with an "*" (or something of the like)? It would be an heads up to those who like to skip around and keep "game mode" off, that they should turn it on for this chapter. I am toying...

Do you like reading stories with Conditions? (i.e. "Start Game")

One of the fun challenges in writing a chyoa story, at least for me, is to stop and think "what would I really do in this situation?" It is very easy to fall into the trap of railroading the reader/player into a course of action where the author wants them to go. When I played those old...

Do you like reading stories with Conditions? (i.e. "Start Game")

That is actually part of the plan for my Red Monika story. It is hinted at with the reference to Monika thinking about her past training. Since that chapter is going to heavily use conditions, however, I have been to lazy to work on, I do admit. Also, I confess, I do kind of like the old school...

Do you like reading stories with Conditions? (i.e. "Start Game")

Thank you, this was a great read and very helpful. The one thing I would add, or least I am trying to do with my redo of "Red Monika," is to have "choke points." Places where numerous threads come back together. I would think for a "game" like story this is very important, unless it becomes an...

By definition, a GM can't cheat. He can be a bad, or unfair GM, but he can't cheat.

Do you like reading stories with Conditions? (i.e. "Start Game")

I guess it is the Dungeon/Game Master in me back from my school days. I really, really, want to write an adventure game. Conditions do have some advantages in chyoa: 1) It is a powerful tool for bringing several branches together into one (or a few). 2) Having variables can add so much to the...

Do you like reading stories with Conditions? (i.e. "Start Game")

The problem is you get more immediate rewards (likes, comments, etc.) going the easy route. For my Catwoman at the Convention game I would to at least get to the 1/3 mark (the "Hottest Booth Babe" Competition). All the branches will meet at this point and then I will reevaluate to see if it is...

Do you like reading stories with Conditions? (i.e. "Start Game")

That is why I gave up on my Red Monika story/game and decided to try something much more limited, like Catwoman at a Convention for ten hours. I did not know about this! Thank you. And thank you for the suggestions and the replies, they were all very helpful.

Do you mean errors made by the story's writer or errors created because of bad chyoa scripting?

Do you like reading stories with Conditions? (i.e. "Start Game")

Very true, though I recently found out you can "go back" in conditional based stories and the program undoes your previous choices, which is a nice feature. Props to the Programing Department. That is why I am forcing myself to write "vertically" which isn't as enjoyable. I greatly appreciate...

Do you like reading stories with Conditions? (i.e. "Start Game")

Do you like reading stories that require the reader to press "Start Game" in order for Conditions to be turned on? I love the idea of creating a text adventure game on here* but it's a lot of work (because of the programing nature of the writing). I have been spending a lot of time making a...

Good stories that are Girl POV

Jumping on the self promotion band wagon myself: The "Game" branch in my Catwoman story is from Selina's POV. (The rest of the story is male POV, however). I remember reading another "date night" story that was romantic and from a woman's point of view, but I don't remember the exact title.

    Writing Rituals.

    * I have to write with a picture next to the prose I am typing, thus I always write in a word processor program. For erotica, it's unsurprisingly sexy, but it's usually not x-rated. Most commonly it's a PG-13 picture of a pretty girl that is somewhat related to the story I am writing.

I tried it, and it doesn't catch the majority of errors that I make. (I am a bit dyslectic.)

Fair enough, but does 38DDD-25-37 bother you?

    Writing about breast size

Amen. As one who once tried to buy lingerie for his girlfriend, I can testify to that. She still laughs at me about that attempt.

    Writing about breast size

All valid points and I don't of course disagree with the facts. I guess my final hangup is that I want to make the numbers easy. For example, Katee Owen's stats are: Measurements: 38-25-37 Bra Size: 32DDD I want to write her measurements as 38DDD-25-37, which seem more dramatic (and thus...

    Writing about breast size

I totally agree (as I mentioned in an earlier post). It is much better to say "busty" and leave it up to the particular opinion of the reader to what "busty" might mean.
