Most Obscure Reference you've ever used...

I named the wrestling opponents in the futa x futa route of ODD after Yu-Gi-Oh cards (Makiu, Hurricail). There's a route in Golden Witch where you play a spoof version of BATTLETOADS called BATTLEGOATS. Despedida in Goodbye Girls is always using obscure anime/game references, although that's...

    Public Stories and Immersion Variables

Unless you name somebody as an editor, they won't be able to change anything about your previous chapters. What could potentially be a worry is if they use the same variables as yours in their own chapters, they can change the values for those starting from their own chapters. Possible ideas...

    Describing body parts.

I also fall on metaphor a lot. For one thing, you can be pretty funny with it, and for another, you can keep your writing from feeling too repetitive. Often times it can also keep you from getting into technical measurements, which are best avoided, in my opinion. You're going to have to...

What is your "deleted scene" in your story?

I'm trying not to count all of the branch questions I've left hanging as "deleted scenes" and instead stuff I will get back to at some point! I had a scene in princecai's Fairer Sex that was going to launch into some raunchy sex stuff and I ended up 180ing on for a romantic twist by...

that feel when someone keeps bookmarking your latest chapter

I'm okay with it! It's nice just to know that they keep coming back. It's pretty tangible proof that somebody likes what you're writing, after all! Though, a like or a comment would be even better. :)

    MidbossMan's art for stories

A quick New Year's present for my buddies at CHYOA. :)

    Simulating Random Outcomes

I think the most practical way to do it is to include a random number generator and have the person make their own roll, then go to the chapter indicated that roll. The simpler the game you make the better, though. Maybe something like high/low, dice, or roulette? I did trial a version of this...

Is there a way to change the name of a story you published?

As long as you're still the owner of the story, you can do this by going to My Stories, go to the story you want, hit the . . ., then click Edit Story. Then you can click the title and make any changes. Then save, and voila! :)

Are you allowed to make age a variable?

I would figure variable age is okay, since that's not inviting people to break the rules just by giving them a blank entry line. For instance, somebody could name their character "Garfield the Cat" or "Jimmy (12 years old)" and make the story break particular rules. ;) Name entry fields are the...

    Tag Density

I had another idea just now, certainly not a high priority compared to all the others, but just something that'd be nice to have. I personally get nervous doing tags in my own stories to some degree, but especially in other people's, because I'm worried I'm diluting the tags they wanted to have...

    Idol sister

Seems good! The sex scenes have a nice, slow pacing I appreciate. The story is a really classic one for the genre that never gets old and it's a very appealing fantasy. I also like that you made the images optional, that is my personal preference. The chapters are meaty and read at a very brisk...

Can I undo choosing a gender?

To edit the perspective listed on your story, go to your story in "my stories" and hit the three dots to the right of the story. You'll see an option for "edit story." Then scroll down and select from female, male, or both. Hope that helps! If you mean undo selecting a gender as a branch at the...

Is it weird to put non-consent in a story that isn’t labeled non-con?

Some would probably tell you that since non-con is something they care about more up front than teen, you should use the non-con category. Personally, I feel if you don't want non-con to be the focus, it would be just as alright to put it in the teen category, then, wherever you think is best--...

Does a series ever get away from you...in a good way?

I'm the type who can never be too nasty to his characters anyway. I have to admit, that turn you described sounds appealing, because I like to read that softer sort of story. :p I have had some deviate from my original vision pretty heavily. I say go with it; in my experience, you're most...

A Possible Varient On A Popular Free Use Worldsetting Idea

I'm not huge on free use but I do really like the world and characters of Yugioh. I'll definitely take a peek if you make the story. :)

When you know you fucked a minor plot point up and it bugs you.

I had a character in my mostly medieval fantasy story comedically say "did anyone get the number on that carriage" when they got beaten up and I didn't think about it until later. You know, the carriage license plate!

What would you like to see in a Time Travel plot?

Have you ever seen those pics comparing an adult woman now with her younger self, showing how she was like a wild rebel type who became a domestic mom, or like a homely girl that turns into a bombshell? It'd be neat to have a story where you interact with both the young version and the old...

    Finding games mode

I don't have a surefire way for finding them, but I do try to tag mine as Games in the sub-text under the title where applicable. If you're interested, I have a couple myself with links in my signature. ;) Other suggestions for games I like are: Paladin Simulator: super gamey (stats, exp...

    Character Customisation

Yeah, I've been thinking a lot on that last point. If it weren't for the difference of effort needed, it wouldn't necessarily be a tradeoff, but since there is time and input needed, it becomes an exchange. The time you spend making customization aspects up front necessarily takes away the...
