Debating actually writing up a horror story this year for Halloween, instead of just pitching bad ideas. I'd like a bit of reader interaction, but that normally doesn't work out very well. Alternately, I could try doing a collection of nested narratives - campfire tales, stories within stories...

Not sure if a lot of people are going to get this one, since there's not a huge amount of sex and what sex there is is kinda fringe kink stuff. But it's a story I wanted to get out of my head, and after it's done maybe I'll do another one with different characters that has more mass appeal.

So, Tolkienpunk Tales has been launched. These are going to consist of several linear stories set in the same universe as "Pipe-weed Dreams," and the first of them is "Age of the Orc." While there are going to be some gratuitous sexy bits, these are also efforts to actually tell a complete...

Gambio did another review. Rather polite, as these things go. I think the switch-up with the parallel track really caught a lot of readers/potential readers off guard. https://chyoa.com/chapter/Stop-dragon-shaming.1762308

Okay, no major fall-off in likes or comments so far. There are 739 chapters. (+72) The longest branch is 32 chapters deep. (+0) There are currently 272 chapters to be written. (recalculated)

It is very difficult to write a sexy self-love or lesbian scene when depressed and unmotivated.

I need to refiddle the numbers, but for right now the thresholds have moved from 10/20 to 15/25. In practice, that means readers will be seeing more progress on continuing existing branches, and fewer new branches. I still haven't set a threshold for endings, but we'll play it by ear for a...

The backlog is over 500...which is a sign of healthy interest in the story, but depressing in that it will take forever to finish the story. Debating what to raise the threshold to. 15/30 would be a bit excessive, not that readers would see any immediate difference. Anyway, folks seem to be...

"Writer's barely disguised burnout." "Writer's barely disguised struggle with depression." "Writer's barely disguised enthusiastic nerdery."

Real life takes priority. Hope things get better for you.

Still dawdling on this one. Been exhausted lately, barely keeping up with DOOMED.
