This is more to save the moderators and administrators time then to improve the site. It seems like every couple of days or so there is a someone posting to the delete account section. How about adding the option under settings to delete your account with a do you want to delete your account prompt to prevent it being done accidentally and turn the delete my account thread into a sticky or create a new sticky in place of it.
