So, hi everyone! I was toying with the idea of creating a medieval story to play with when I'm not busy with 'At The Cabin'. I thought about a story where the main character (and others created by other authors) would have to fulfill missions/jobs, be it as a duty or in exchange of a reward. I've thought of two possible scenarios:

    1) The characters are knights, serving the kingdom and going on whatever missions they are sent to do.

    2) The characters are members of a guild of bounty hunters, doing all kinds of jobs that happen to spring up inside the guild.

Would anyone be interested on reading/writing in one of these scenarios? Forgive me if someone already has a story with those concepts, I've searched before posting and found none, but Chyoa has a lot of stories and it's completely possible that I may have missed something.

    I'm also open to suggestions.

I think the bounty hunters idea is the best for what I have in mind, it can easily cover most of the plots I've thought for the other scenario, whereas the opposite isn't possible.

I like the bounty hunter idea, give you more room for choice of charcthers.

That's what I'm thinking too, knights only allow for one type of character, the sword-wielding fighter. On the other hand, with the bounty hunters idea, more kinds of characters can be created besides the sword-wielding fighter, such as an assassin, a mage, an archer, etc.

Although I'm also thinking of expanding the universe of the story and the bounty hunters guild being only a part of it.

Sounds a fun idea, I'd probably be interested in adding some threads/characters to a story like that. I always find low fantasy type stories, with rogues and thieves and mercenaries and all as the protagonists much more interesting than the "noble quest" type.

What kind of world do you have in mind for your story? I'm always interested in world building. :)

Something to consider though - Friedman is going to be rolling out Chyoa 2.0 fairly soon, and that will have the options to have rpg type statistics that can change and effect the options and things as the story progresses - if you think that could be useful to your story - having the mercenaries earn money for successful missions, and not for failed ones and have their options alter as a result of their fortunes, or even just having health of combat ability meters for them - it might be worth holding out for 2.0 before you begin!

Hey, spentbob! Yes, I agree that a mix of different types of characters is better than only the noble ones getting all the attention, and rogues, thieves and mercenaries sure have a place in the world I have in mind.

I only have a continent in mind for the story yet, a place that I created for a story that I've never got to write. There was a war between two religious kingdoms and a non-religious empire that left the continent in a bad shape, having consequences for both sides and their allies/neighbor nations. That's more or less the general idea of it.

I've read about the new features of Chyoa 2.0, and I also thought that maybe it'd be for the best to wait for it. If anything, just to check out if any of the new features will be useful in the story.
