So I have a story titled "At The Cabin" on the "Erotic Couplings" category. One of the writers contributing to the story thought about adding a pornstar as a character, then I thought a bit more about the matter and the idea of using a celebrity as a character popped into my mind. My question is: is it allowed to use a real person/celebrity outside of the "Celebrities" category?

Absolutely. It's part of why CHYOA placed a higher emphasis on tags. Even back in the days of CHYOO, it wasn't uncommon for someone to mingle real celebrities or even fictional characters from all over into other categories. The category is just a guideline to represent the primary intention of the story when the creator started the story, it does not have to be the only intention.

But, it's Damn Good Nonsense! The stuff we need in a seriously Fucked World, I always used fiction and imagination to escape from the crap, whether LOTR and Dragonlance (which seriously turn to shit) as a kid or David Gemmel, Raymond E Feist, David Weber, terry pratchett (I won't touch his last few novels because, well ya know why), C. J. Cherryh (Fortress Series) and many numerous others was a way to wind down from work with a beer and to escape to something else. But at the moment I can't enjoy all of those books in my library any more. But I can enjoy the fun stuff of yours and other CHYOA brilliant and fun Writers.
