Hey all. I just wanted to bounce some ideas off you guys for a possible new story. I saw a picture on reddit that was something to do with mispronouncing the name of a piece of IKEA furniture and accidentally summoning an ancient one. Cool idea for a story. How can we add a CHYOA touch to it? Perhaps make the summoning an incubus or a succubus… The demon could possess the summoner for a night or two each lunar cycle or maybe the hours from 10 pm to 12 am. The demon could offer gifts in exchange for helping them manifest completely into the physical world. A particularly evil idea I had that would make it a sort of breeding story is the summoner is female and the demon needs her to fall pregnant 666 times, each time the entity absorbs the pregnancy. In exchange, they gain extended youth each time they fall pregnant. Or even have the person dismiss the summoning as a dream and they are later in life trying to conceive. I’d love to hear what sort of ideas you guys could come up with. Different ideas can be different branches from the start after all. Thanks Dacia xoxo
Are the gifts the demon's offering IKEA furniture? Is he/she in cahoots with IKEA? If everyone else also can't pronounce the name too, is the demon getting over-extended and worn out, having to sub-contract out any impregnating to all manner of supernatural entities (which might provide a bit of variety as the story went along, or might just be an awful idea). Also, since it's Ikea, they could possibly summon a Mare which is the Swedish equivalent of an Incubus, though more into affecting dreams than impregnation, though this being CHYOA the dreams or possibly the Mare would be highly erotic.
There are a lot of demons you can steal from TV Shows to round out the roster. Crossroads Demon from Supernatural - Appears at the Crossroad in the form of a beautiful woman. Gives the person 10 years of whatever they want, such as fame or love. The deal is sealed with a kiss. Then the person is killed by hell hounds. Kitsune - Fox Demon from Japan. I think they take on the form of beautiful women to steal husbands from their wives.
Kitsune aren’t straight-up demons, they’re trickster spirits who fall into the broader classification of yokai. They’re closer to divine than not. If a kitsune gets involved with a human, it’s more often to marry (and be sent away once they’re found out) than to be a piece on the side. Their standing in anime notwithstanding, I don’t think it’d be as good of a fit as the Mare bobbydavros suggested.
Counterpoint, it is possible in many scenarios to summon and bind various Yokai, including, I think, younger kitsune. (Three-tails and less? Don't know where I'm pulling that specific number from, but...) So what if we had a branch where you summoned and bound a younger, (but adult, let's not go squick, we're talking kitsune equivalent of 18-21,) Kitsune? She appears in the store in young adult woman disguise, and you have adventures, and eventually, she's revealed and expects you to send her away, but you're all like "Hot first to second degree furry GF? Yes please!" and then either have more adventures or a "Happily ever after" ending...
