It would be convenient to have a way to favorite a branch, in addition to an entire story. For some of the larger stories (The Gamer, Alternatum, Items of Power), getting notifications every time one of 50+ branches updates, when you are only interested in one or two of them can be a bit annoying. So a way to lock onto a specific branch and only get notifications when THAT branch has a new chapter would be quite convenient. Right now the only real options I am aware of are: Bookmarking the latest chapter of each branch, and periodically load up each one to check if there is a new link at the end. Going to story map periodically and searching through it. Or favoriting the entire story, and trying to remember whether the listed update's author matches the branch you like. Though this one can be rather inaccurate even if your memory is good as sometimes the same author can write MANY branches of one story.
Please add suggestions to the Suggestion Subforum. I guess the suggestion Add the option to favor only some story lines seems similar. If you want to vote for suggestions, like the first post of the suggestion thread.
Periodically loading would be unnecessary. If you've bookmarked a chapter, you'll get a notification whenever a new chapter is added directly onto the bookmarked one. There shouldn't actually be any problems with this method, really, except that you wouldn't get more notifications until you've read the latest chapter in the branch (at which point you'd then bookmark it). If you care about the whole branch, you could bookmark every chapter in the branch.
