I know as a standard for people its 18 plus but what about when im writing about a fantasy world. What are the age guidlines to non human characters? For example in a story im making an orc is fully matured by age 14 as they need to develop and reproduce fast to keep their numbers up. Another example would be a race of humanoids that have juvenile characteristics later than 18 though with adult intelligence due to their long life spans. Then there is the factor of mythology creatures that are dim witted. Where do they fall on what is ok to write about in a sexual context?
I would stick to no one having sex under 18 due to the fact if a story goes online with a character under 18 having sex this site could be shut down. Now you can have characters under 18 not having sex however. This goes back to the harkness test as well with mythology characters. 3 forum discussions related to this https://forum.chyoa.com/threads/scooby-doo-nsfw.1370/#post-18428 https://forum.chyoa.com/threads/harkness-story.1547/ https://forum.chyoa.com/threads/the-harkness-test-and-digimon.1335/ Hope this helps clarify things for you.
18+ and passing the Harkness test That doesn't make it necessary to describe sex with them. Human females are able to reproduce at that age as well. If you want to work around it, there are a lot of ways to let them get a lot of offspring after turning 18. - multiple pregnancies - high fertility - quick pregnancies (like 4 months) Let's say you're talking about elves... Besides being 18, elves have to pass the Harkness test of being sexually mature to be present at a sex scene or take part in it. Juvenile, physical characteristics also appear on legal girls, so I don't think that is a problem. In case of elves, these juvenile characteristics might be more widespread, though they also appear on human girls of legal age. There is published porn from known labels which obviously isn't banned, like (caution: nude content) pic1, pic2 and pic3. It might also be a question of attitude of morality, and, TBH, the third one crosses that line for me.
Thanks, that helps. Still find it a bit odd for non human characters. Like a tentacle monster or a unicorn or a demon dog doesnt pass the harkness test and their ages may very well be less than 18 but is still seen as acceptable. I thought orcs that became adults earlier than humans would be ok because theyre fictional creatures. But if thats not ok i suppose thats not a huge deal.
Um... no. Even if some people would do it "morally right", allowing it would open the door for the other way and soon you'll have that fictional race, whose adults reach maturity with 12, having pale skin, no body hair, flat breasts, tiny nipples, and so on.
Care to elaborate on the fantasy creature view? If thats the case that it isnt acceptable then a lot of stories on here are forbidden https://chyoa.com/story/Sifr-the-White-Wolf.4735/map?chapter=134623 https://chyoa.com/story/Progenitor-Rex.15461 https://chyoa.com/story/The-Breeding-Industry.7682
I randomly picked the second. Down the first branch, a human woman gives birth to an alien creature which is involved in a sexual encounter only a day later. So I'd see that as a rule violation.
