    i know the characters have to be 18 for sexual situations. my next noncon story will have a part where a girl is captured on the last day she is 17. the rape does not start until after she turns 18 though. will her capture at 17 be an issue?

    That's kind of toeing the line.... Personally I wouldn't push it. To me, if she was caught while still 17, that's close enough to under age for me. I don't know how others feel about that, so this is just my opinion. As such, I'd say don't do it. Have her be 18 for a week or two before she is captured at least. Don't even have her in captivity while still 17. Hell don't even let the bad guy/pervert/villain/stalker even be watching her and thinking about kidnapping her until she is well past 18.

    Again, this is just my opinion, so feel free to do whatever you feel like.

    Yeah the 18 limit it's kind of silly for me too, and not only because the legal age of consent in many countries is way lower (16? 14?) but also because basically removes the possibility to write funny stories about interesting periods of our adolescence (18-20 yo or more is way different than 16, at least that's my experience).
    That said, It's probably a mandatory rule due to the laws of some countries and to avoid problems with users from those countries.
    Someone else well informed on the subject will probably clarify the matter.

    all depends on where the site is based. if in the US the age rule is a personal not legal decision

    in Germany (due to the directives of the EU it should be the same in any EU-state)
    it's forbidden to spread material which contains

    sexual actions with or even in front of persons with age below 18

    It doesn't matter, if it is with consent or not.
    It also doesn't matter if all participants are underage or not.

    Back to the initial question:
    I my opinion it would depend, how the girl get captured.
    In general I wouldn't mind.
    I also can understand, that it could be hard to slide the age about 2 weeks, because of the mind of the girl... "How can you do that??? It's my birthday...", she weeps.

    Just to clarify for science fiction and fantasy stories, which may transpire on alternate planets which have their own orbital rates (and perhaps we shouldn't even touch the relativity of time as one travels through space), I'm guessing characters should at least be 18 in Earth years. And I'm hoping there's nothing wrong with adding stipulations on our own stories mandating that characters have to be older--say, 21? I've heard (but been unable to track down) evidence that biological adulthood actually starts further along in the 20s, when puberty ends.

    Sorry but how is this related to what you can do on this site (writing adult fiction)? First of all, that (totally fair and necessary) law is to avoid sharing images and videos of underage people. And we're talking about actual persons, not characters in a fiction.
    We should search for a law that specifically concerns writing adult fiction.

    "Material" means "written stuff" and just includes images and videos afterwards;
    and it doesn't matter, if this material harmed anyone or if it is just fiction;
    e.g. it is forbidden to spread hentai comics with underage characters; even movies with mature actors, who are intentional acting like underage teens are forbidden here (means age 14-17)

    I think, it is about preventing people having fantasies about that issues

    I totally agree with that.

    A few years ago I bought some Maquis de Sade books from a high street bookshop. Now if you have read them you know the content and it is very explicit. I guess on this type of site we have to be careful but if you were to remove all books in which under 18s had sex you'd have to remove works by Shakespeare and Jane Austen although in most cases these are just implied but in others the sexual scene is in but not explicit.

    I'm not seeking to change the rules and not criticizing the moderators of this site, just pointing out some of the hypocrisy of society. It would make more sense if there was no explicit description of sex below 18 (because most societies accept an age of 18 for pornography) but not deny that sex takes place below that age when perhaps the majority lost their virginity below that age so implication should be allowed. To emphasize, just my view, I will obey all current rules.

    So we should lower our standards simply because our over-indulged, spoiled youth culture fails to see the negative impacts of losing their virginity in acts of pedophilia? And by consenting to such acts, that labels them pedophiles as well. Doesn't matter if they're underaged; you can still go to jail for possessing nudes of yourself on your phone. Even if free speech is a universal write that transcends written mores, that label still remains, regardless of the fallacy of cultural relativism regarding place or time period.

    Obviously, writing about such things doesn't make you what you create, or else every mystery novelist would be a murderer.

    Wow, didn't expect such a sentence from you.

    I'd like to remind everyone that in most western countries (mine included) sex at the age of 16 in perfectly fine, so let's try to use the word pedophilia with care. Thanks.

    There, age of consent in the world:

    Did you actually understand what I said ... :rolleyes: If you are under the impression that sex with under 18s doesn't exist in modern literature then might I suggest you read some. What I was saying is on this site we avoid even mentioning it because of societal pressures which expect a higher standard on the internet than might be found in a reputable bookshop. I never implied pornography involving under 18s is OK or should be allowed on this site. Check out "Shameless" or "Queer as Folk" if you want to find out British TV's attitude to the subject. And you shouldn't use the 'p' word unless you know what it means. This is my last word on the subject.
