I've taken over a story from the old site and I'm eager to revive. Right now I'm just taking over the current games in progress and playing against myself to decide the moves but I'll probably start new games when I finish those. English is not my first language but I've been working with it for years now and most of my errors will likely be in grammar and some word putting. I skimmed through the story and i must say i like the idea. I'm a beginner level player at chess though, so i feel that need to refer to an outer source for a chessboard to be a bit intricate. The last option (when gods play ...) seems the one where the initial concept is best devloped. The chapters titles, written like actual chess moves are anti-immersive for me, they make loose track of the different characters. Also navigating the map results quite diffcult.
Hmm i can sort of see what you mean. What I might try to fix that is to give the chapters a more describing name and then just put the move at the top of the chapter. I probably won't work on when god's play because of how many characters are already developed and established so I would likely make many inconsistencies.
Some time ago i was suggested to try developing a line in a story using a dice roll. It was in fact based on a game, so it actually had sense. Later i gave it a try, even if i wasn't quite satisfied with the outcome, as i feel i handn't control over the story and plus the real odds were actually badly distribuited. This just to say that, the moment i read this story, i thought of writing a branch by playing a chess game (against computer maybe?) a bit like with a dice roll. The thing is, characters needs to be more in the focus imho. Yeah, i thought so. It's up to you if you want a fresh start or not, in case you have already put your eyes on a particular already existing line...
I'm currently trying something like it but I've been struggling to put it together in a way that makes sense. I'm going to make it based on a war battle kind of thing. Another author has been kind enough to offer some advice in that regard but the issue is converting it into a chess format. I'm going to go for rule of story rather than rule of play but I do want to stay on topic.
What you mean by that? I'll try to guess and answer anyway. In a setting like that of When Gods play ..etc, i'd go with play the chess game and make the characters acts accordingly. If a piece gets eaten, it would mean fucked, by the white's prospective. This idea though, is heavily structured around two different factions, with different intents and goals (black men VS white girls). If you have a different set up in mind, i don't know. In war settings, you'll have to assign every piece a role first of all. Sill male vs female? Mixed armies? If so every piece could be either male or female? You could have a story of episodes, with every piece being some kind of hero on the battlefield, or maybe just a few pieces, while pawns are just facelss troops. Less heros, less confusing the story would get imho. Let's take for example a Bishop, being something like an assassin, moving through the enemy lines, untill, right before attempting at the King's life, gets caught the royal guards (Tower) and gets ... well ... chained and, hmm ... interrogated. IF said character was instead male (somehow i just went straigth with it being female), you could either go for homosexual sex (if you feel comfortable with it) in case the guards are males as well, role reversal, if the guards are female, or simply make the guard just kill him. I really don't know how you stand with non-con, but i suppose that's how you can put it on a battlefield scenario.
I'm pretty sure i'm going to keep it male vs female or female vs female but I also had futa vs futa suggested for exactly that reason. I've never really done anything with futas however so i'm probably going to keep it with either black female vs white male or white female vs black male and come up with an in universe reason for it. Maybe have it be a game like future paintball or something. The hero idea sounds like a good way to stay organized, my biggest challenge when trying to expand the other threads was that even with the emulator I would lose track of where everything was if I didn't constantly check. I'll probably go the noncon route just because it'll make it easier but if I do it as a game I would make it consensual. What I'm thinking of doing is writing up the starting thread for a few different ways I could do it and seeing which one is most popular. That would mean more work at the start but it would help me work on my writing in general as well as seeing where audience interest it.
Must it be white vs black when it comes to race? I could understand if they were wearing clothing or armor that is white or black.
If you do men vs women you don't actually need them to be of different races, just go with yin/yang characterization.

You could also do white couples vs. black couples. As environment I could imagine a setting of two competing companies. Their CEOs could be chess friends for years and know them very well. They are equally good and both win as often as they lose. For the game, they are the male part of their Kings and the player of the game. Now they go for some higher stakes. Each of them has a 18 year old virgin daughter (no incest intended), being the female part of the King. If a King is defeated, the victorious King has the privilege of popping opponent's daughter's cherry while the defeated CEO has to watch. After having fun with her, all remaining pieces of his colors can have fun with her. The other pieces could be couples where either both are employees of the company with the same job or it is an employee with their spouse. Roles: King: CEO with daughter Queen: CEO's secretary with assistant (respectively husband) Rook: Key account manager Bishop own-colored square: Sales Manager domestically Bishop opposing-colored square: Sales Manager overseas Knight: Company Lawyer (or Project Manager) Pawn: Case Worker (or each pawn has a different job like Janitor, Receptionist, Cleaner, and so on) Capturing (not in case of defeating the female part of the King): option 1 - A captured piece will be defeated when it had an orgasm(either the female part or both of them). - An attacking piece can't reach orgasm (either the male part or both of them). The more pieces they capture, the more sexual energy they will gather for the final turn with the King's daughter option 2 - A captured piece will be defeated when the female part received the cum from the attacker. - The male part of the captured piece is forced to wear a condom to protect the attacking female. Setting: Could be a company picnic. Options: - There could be advantages when capturing other pieces on own-colored squares (like allowing BDSM or anal) - Pawns could have even more restrictions when capturing non-pawn pieces (like no advantages on own-colored squares and oral-only on opposing-colored squares) - A stalemate king would be treated as loser of the game - To prevent Kings from playing for a draw, both CEO's daughters will be available for all pieces after a draw. (In a time based game, only the remaining pieces)
Hmm. I like the premise. I think I'll give it a shot. The same square capture is an interesting idea.
I could also imagine an urban setting where the chess board is non-human, though each piece has its representatives as described in roles. When it comes to a capture, the respective representatives could be sent to a meeting with the representatives of the other company or they have to follow an invitation in case of an own-colored square. This would lead to different settings for each capture and the representatives would have time to relax between subsequent captures. (Like "the janitor attacks the opposing lawyer in the restroom", "the CEO fucks the opposing secretary on her own desk", "the sales manager domestically has a meeting with the opposing sales manager oversees in a conference room", and so on) Would there be enough family members to occupy all roles? (or would one couple take over all pieces of a kind, resulting in 6 couples?) Would both sides be the same family? (maybe young against old?) What do you mean exactly? I think it is part of the initial idea to have some opposites of being interracial, though I could also imagine other things like young/old or rich/poor Well, the basic idea of me was that a piece could be a couple instead of either a male or female. I just meant it was an interesting idea that sounded fun to play with. I hadn't considered it before and it could add a new dimension. The trick of course is making the story interesting which sometimes requires doing something that wouldn't make sense in chess, which of course can be explained by the fact that even experienced players make mistakes.
