I contribute to stories with many threads. I like using the story map with in-page text search to find chapters by my name or by words in the chapter name. Incremental story map loading makes searching for chapters awkward. The search by chapter function is not a good substitute because it returns small numbers of results per page, cluttered with preview text, out of story map order. I want a way of searching through all the chapter titles + authors by text. A server or browser cached full story map could help.
Story maps are already cached. The only reason they are served as chunks is that loading them in one piece led to timeouts frequently. (Reducing the overhead and focusing on the minimum amount of information might make the size small enough to offer it in one piece.) I think it would be useful to have a search function that allows you to filter the story map.
