Say I've published some chapters in a branch of story but now I want a story or an entire branch to move to a new location. Is that possible while keeping the content intact? Also, the part of choosing the next step where there are more than one options. Can I rearrange that to make the list alphabetical?
No and no. A commonly requested feature, but yet to be implemented. As it is, you basically need to plan ahead with your chapter order.
As already stated, you should plan ahead or use draft chapters as placeholders (though if the story isn't published yet, they get published when the story gets published.) Right now, the only one who can rearrange chapters is Friedman who can directly assign them in the database. So if it is really necessary, you could ask him to move a branch.
