I don't know if this has been posted before but having scrolled through some stuff on the forums, I failed to find an answer. Understandably, larger/longer stories take more time to load and have more branches; I'm aware of how the chapters are counted going from the introduction onward. For some stories, however, I find that the counting seems to glitch. For example, Lauren's Little Secret has a 2.1 chapter but scrolling down after around 2.19 or so, it recounts another chapter as 2.1. The same can be found with Celebrity ENF, which after about the 2.50 mark, another chapter recounts as 2.1.
The story map of stories with more than 1k chapters isn't loaded in one go. When you go to the bottom of the map, it will load the next 1k chapters. For subsequent chunks, the numbering will start at 1. Maybe this behavior will change with the next version.
Is this a glitch or a feature? I see that chapter numbers frequently get reused when threads split. For example, I just looked at one of my own stories, and saw that 6.1 is followed by 7.1 ... but 6.2 is ALSO followed by 7.1. In fact, there's yet ANOTHER 6.1 elsewhere (because it followed a 5.2), and that second 6.1 is ALSO followed by what is now at least a third 7.1. My point being -- the decimal numbers seem to only be unique based on their immediately preceding chapter. Once there are any thread splits, all the numbers start over again. I don't think this is specific to stories with 1k chapters -- I think this can happen with any length story. Or am I misunderstanding the original post/question/concern?
