    Title says it all.

How do you folks see crossovers? And by that, I mean stuff that makes sense such as Marvel and DC, Mario and Sonic, Bendy and Hello Neighbor, Tekken and Street Fighters, I can't think of other examples, and etc.

As well as crossovers that don't make sense that I also won't list down because there are several.

And while I know there are stories that focus on some multiverse, where some lucky bastard who's probably never seen the sun probably since they were five years old suddenly dominating several women from either fiction or non-fiction. But that's not what I'm talking about.

What I'm talking about are some characters, in or out of their own universe/franchise, interacting and fucking/being fucked around whatever situation/universe they've come across.

I personally have no opinion on this to be honest, all except sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, and I have only found one story that does this, and it's not that inclusive when it comes to universes. Thankfully, it is public if anyone is curious.

Depends on the execution. If somebody wants the Black Cat (Marvel) to have a lesbian oil wrestling match with Catwoman (DC), it could be great or terrible. The closer that the sources are to each other, the easier such crossover tend to be - Dr. Who/Star Trek, for example, are both science fiction series with lots of handwavium technology. Centaurs from *Fantasia* and My Little Pony? Well, at least they're both animated cartoons. I'm sure there are some real crack ships out there, I don't think any crossover has to be terrible...though many are a bit lackluster.

(This being said, there's a few crossover chapters in LLNO, so I can't exactly throw stones.)

I'm all for a well done crossover, even more if it's one we may never get in reality such as a Marvel-DC crossover in mainstream media, even without the eroticism. That said, I'm sure someone has Batman/Black Widow, Superman/Captain Marvel, or Wonder Woman/Thor stories out there somewhere, but if not, I say, "why not?".

Though to be honest, when I saw your post I thought it was maybe proposing a CHYOA crossover story. Authors collaborating on and crossing original characters from their stories. I know there are stories and authors that borrow (with permission) characters and storylines/paths from other stories or authors that borrow from their own stories, but if there was a more intentional plan, like an MCU type thing, I could see that being fun. But also complicated.

I thought that as well. Sort of like with Gambio's review story but less meta. That being said, not sure which CHYOA stories I'd actually want to see crossover.

Is it really a crossover if Superman and Captain Marvel are from the same universe? Also, Captain Marvel is 12 so thats inappropriate.

A number of CHYOA writers (myself included) have a couple of repeating characters we use so stories end up a crossovers even if that was not explicit.

The original post was, by context, definitely referring to "Captain Marvel" of Marvel and not DC. The most recognizable iteration of Marvel's "Captain Marvel" appears to be 18 or over. Apologies if this is disassembling a joke, but the post reads like an accusation and wanted to head that off if it was a genuine mistake.

On the note of crossovers, I don't have any objection to it and I don't have much to add to it, except to say that being able to write one universe and its characters believably is such an undertaking that I'm sure it's twice as hard with two. Considering that, and considering that making a crossover fic probably limits your audience to people familiar with both series, I imagine it's generally a labor of love.

I don't see why it couldn't work, though. It could add some flavor interest to see characters interact you ordinarily wouldn't imagine together. That said, I can also see it as a potentially "distracting" element if it's done carelessly.

Basically, I think it's something best done because you have an inspired idea and not just on a whim because you happen to like both series.

Yeah, not sure if a joke or not from @IWannaSpankGirls ... but YES, @Gatsha, the reference was to Marvel's Captain Marvel... more specifically, adult Carol Danvers as an adult and not any weird time travel or magic ray guns, spells, mind control or anything of the sort where she or any other character is made into a child or a child-like character from the same or another comic universe for the sake of inappropriate "adult time".

I almost clarified this in my original post b/c I know that Shazam/Billy Batson has previously been referred to as "Captain Marvel", but I assumed the context of the other DC/Marvel pairings I referenced would've sufficed. Plus, the whole idea of TL;DR (see this post)

My next reference: A Red Hood x Red Hood story. Is it Jason Todd with another Red Hood variant or Jason Todd at home servicing himself? Or some other strange combo or solo story? Tune in next week! Same CHYOA forum, same CHYOA thread! :D
