Fast points about myself: It would be generous to call myself a B-list writer, but I'm always looking to improve even if I'm not quite sure what the hell I am doing. I am willing to take suggestions and criticism.

Concept: When I was playing this game earlier on my ds, it gave me a weird thought if there is any potential for a story to it. I just want to know if it's only me who thinks this is worth trying before doing something with it.

If you don't know the series, it's basically about a bunch of people using their phones, ds's, or whatever else, to make contracts with demons and angels to survive a week in a city against rouge monsters and demons, or other users.

I feel there is a lot that could be done with this. Maybe the rouge monsters find the protagonist, "delicious" in more ways than one. Or they use their demons on people for less than noble reasons. Perhaps some might even find ways to still screw the protagonist over even if they are technically contracted not to personally hurt them.

All characters would obviously be over eighteen in my version. I'm not taking a carbon copy of the series, but what I want to do is make something in a similar vein of it.

If anyone could tell me what they think, or if it's a waste of time and why it would be, I would be happy to hear from them either way.

The one thing i find here on Chyoa is what one thinks is a waste, others will be enthralled with. One never knows what will be the quote "flavor of the week" . I say write the story the way you see it occuring. Someone might like it enough to write a thread that help you to improve the original story. Myself I'm a huge fan of the "Doublecross' stories so would love to see the demon manipulate the protagonist to take the choices leading them into eventual danger.

as happened many times (Hell i guilty of doing this with "Phallus" and "I.M.Voyeur") if you don't like what you wrote just let it get buried and try again with a different concept for the story or work put it on your back burner for a while then revive it later!

The main thing i'm saying is to try and let the world decide!

It's not a waste of time if you are interested in it. If you like the idea run with it, write like crazy. Even if no one else likes it that doesn't mean it was a waste of time. You made something you liked and got to practice your writing in the meantime.

Amen to that! I find the readers here a true mystery at times. Chapters I find so-so will get lots of positive buzz, others I really like barely register. I've seen in other stories chapters just a few sentences long and nothing really happening will get likes and other longer well crafted chapters get nothing. Hell, my biggest story on here I was SURE was going to be a huge flop, turns out I tapped into something. gscmar is right, don't try too hard to guess what the readers want. Write what comes to you and see what happens.

The idea itself sounds just great. A lot of possibilities with demonic/angelic contracts and rogue (not rouge) monsters on the rampage. The devil is always in the details though. Give it your own spin and get to writing! :)

I too can attest that what you think will be ratings gold around here often is treated pretty 'meh', and your story sounds like it has potential to draw the site's biggest crowd, the rape fans, whom I personally despise and categorically refuse to cater to for IRL reasons.

However, you also said you are always willing to take suggestions, so here's mine:

This, (and a pretty severe case of ADHD that I find writing helps keep under control,) is what has made me one of the top 20 writers on this site.

Whelp, I figure that I might as well go ahead and do it. If it doesn't work out, it won't cost me anything anyway.

The grammar check thing is going to be useful. So, thanks for that. Even when I try to be good about it, I end up coming back later and realizing that I left some small mistake.

After publishing, I will probably make a thread for it for it in the forum branch for story feedback(After enough is written for publishing.) Although, I'm not really the type who likes bumping their own topics, I still keep an eye and try to respond when appropriate.

But yeah. You don't know if you don't try. That's really all there is to it.
