On the sidebar/red bar menu, we can see nearly every metrics on a story. Views, likes, favorites, bookmarks. All except for the number of comments.

There seems to be a nice spot just right of story map to add it.

It could also be used as a search criteria to find stories with a lot of reader/writer interaction.

I'm not sure about this because quest stories (or similar) would have a lot of comments, though it wouldn't be "real" reader/writer interaction.

the fact that readers decide the construction of the storyline is in fact a form of interaction. in a quest story the author adresses the reader in each chapter and the readers reply.

Then it is rather a form of collaboration.

The author of a 2nd person story addresses the readers as well and additional replies to "any" reader instead of the most popular choice. (The way of a Quest Story can be easier, though there's nothing wrong with it.)
