As this is a site primarily focused on choices, I tend to prefer stories with many branches and find myself looking at the total chapter count and comparing it with the chapter depth pretty frequently. The total chapter count is displayed, but only on the side bar once you've already loaded a story. I think it would be convenient if it were displayed on the front page, in searches, and generally anywhere else the depth is already displayed.
