Or no preference? And, if you don't mind sharing, what gender are you? I ask because, although I'm male, I definitely trend towards writing from the female perspective. Sometimes I think I even do it pretty well, which is interesting, because I don't in other contexts feel that I have any special insight into the female mindset (not that it has to be vastly different than the male mindset in many instances). Is there a certain story type which influences your decision, maybe? I tend to deal with quite a bit of reluctance/noncon, but not exclusively. Maybe I tend towards writing in the role of the female perspective because I find the emotions and conflicts of the victim generally more interesting, deep, and dynamic than the emotions and conflicts of the persecutor. Also when the sexing is done, there's often not a lot more to say about the dominant figure (well, I shouldn't generalize, it really depends on the story or writer), but the victim might continue to have a lot more going on internally or externally. Which perspective calls to you, and why? ... Or, is there a gender perspective that you have a preference in reading? I enjoy lots of things, but I will say it's a little strange to read second-person-female-perspective sometimes, although not so much that it's a turn off. In fact, I like a number of such stories. Just, being male, it's a weird perspective to read from (as I imagine a female reading male-second-person might sometimes be).
Both is fine, though I think, that writing from opposite gender perspective seems to be more interesting sometimes. Kind of "exploring the unknown" or "thinking about female behavior". I think reading is similar to writing. Probably the only difference is, that another (male) writer may have his own idea of female behavior.
Both is fine with me but I tend to manly write from the male perspective, since I have the most experience as a male. Reading I don't care which perspective, I enjoy then both
Less about gender and more about the position in the scene. I find myself writing out of the receiving perspective much more than the acting one. Although now that i think about it that often tends to be female....I think that says more about the kind of story i write tho.
