Does my story, (A Room), break the rules on violence?

  1. story (I think this is the right link): https://chyoa.com/story/A-Room.15477
and this link is probably the most violent chapter (so far): https://chyoa.com/chapter/Not-the-way-she-wanted-it-to.416354

I'm just practicing my writing so it's fine if it has to get taken down or whatever. But there's like killing and stuff? I saw on the Chyoa rules that there's not supposed to be extreme violence, so I'm kinda uncertain if I should be posting it here. I don't wanna get banned or anything. I like to read stories on Chyoa.

I just wrote and posted it on a whim cause I like to practice writing and I like Chyoa and I thought I'd write something for Chyoa. But if it's not appropriate, I'll get rid of it? I don't know if it's ok or not.

I don't plan to make it more violent than it already is, really, if that matters.

The main thing, I've found, is DO NOT mix porn with violence. Violence? Murder? Literal human sacrifice? I've had all of those approved (in theory, at least). However, if I were to add porn into my murder, it would break the site rules. So, just don't add depections of violence during sex acts, and don't go straight from erotica into violence, and you should be fine.

  3. Cool, thanks. I tried to look at the rules myself but I wasn't really sure about the specifics. If murder is fine, then my story should be fine. It doesn't happen during sex, and I'll make sure it never does, at least in the stuff I write for Chyoa, as I continue to write more.

What I got out if a couple talks is that if the violence *is* the kink, then you have to start worrying about how extreme it is, and where you fall relative to the rules.

If its plot/story/action, you shouldn't have (m)any worries.

  5. *I don't know how to use forums well so if the reply doesn't work, then I'm sorry.

But yeah, I saw stuff like that in my search on the forums. What I don't get is like what it really means for violence to be the kink.

Like if the author can jerk it to a story about murder cause they get sexually aroused by violence then does that make the content bad? Violence would be the kink of the author. Or if the author writes with the intent that people do get off specifically to the murder in the story. Even though that kinda depends on the reader.

I'm certainly not thinking that when I'm writing. I think sex is sex, but violence isn't sexual to me, it's just for the plot/story, like you said. But I dunno. Can erotica have a story? I think so. But I'm not sure how much of a story.

Then there's like, writing a character that gets off on violence. I feel like that's not okay since it makes violence the kink? Or is it like, violence is the kink when you talk about BDSM? I don't know much about BDSM, but I think I read on this site that it has to do about trust. Like the partners agree that the pain is good beforehand. There's no like non-consensual bdsm? That's just violent rape, maybe? And violent rape is what Chyoa is trying to stay away from? Or maybe even if two characters are consenting to extreme bdsm, that's also a no go?

I'm not into like violence/guro in like a sexual sense, but I do read a lot of non-consensual/rape H-manga. Makes me feel kinda bad but I like it at the same time. My story is kind of very rapey, but I am pretty sure that's ok on Chyoa. Violent rape is the bad stuff, I think. But then is writing about a girl getting punched while being raped too violent, or is it only if she's getting shanked while being raped. I dunno where the line is. Obviously neither of those scenarios are in my story, and I don't plan on writing them, really.

lol, no need to read and reply to all this rambling, but you can if you want to. I'm just gonna keep writing, and if what I write is too offensive, I'll take it down, or the people who check for that stuff will take it down, or something. It's good to know what more people think though, so thanks for commenting about it.

Writing violence into kink is one of those 'know it when you see it' things. It's pretty easy to tell if the intent is to smuttify violence.

Punching is typically okay, though there's a line there, too.

What is or is not in the rules really seems to depend on the style of writing, how deep it is, how evocative and provocative...

Anyway, I have a feeling you'll be fine from what you say.

This isn't a slasher site, that's my guideline and it's worked for me so far.

I will say that my primary story is pretty violent- even to the point that a few of the endings lead to (usually implied) death. But bloodshed isn't the point of the thing, and there's an undertone of "you've gone too far" in the paths that lead to death. Thus far, I haven't received any official warning.

Obviously, I'm not an admin, but my advice would be not to revel in blood n' guts or suggest that killing or maiming people is itself the turn-on.

I'm posting up in everything today, so I will do that here.

Killing in itself? Is fine. Personally, nobody has stopped me when I had chapters with characters being beat up or killed. That doesn't cross the line. I've seen tons of stories here where authors have characters killed and in some they. even do it right after sex. But the keyword is after.

Lewd things+violence at the same time= Where the rules come in, I think. Independently, a scene where someone dies isn't a rule breaker(Probably best not to go in needless graphic detail about it however.) My thoughts are necessarily correct to how it works, mind you. I'm just saying nobody seems to have stopped me before for the existence of a chapter where someone dies in itself.

As for non con stories, that's not really something I've personally touched so I wouldn't know the exacts but I'm pretty sure it would be evident what's pushing it.
