I understand the filter is a necessary evil but could it at least point out when it catches something? If it can delete words why can't it put black bars or stars? As a reader, it makes stories confusing and as a writer, it makes conflicts impossible to fix because I don't know where the problems are. It makes me regret using the in-site story editor. For some stories I have no unfiltered version anymore.

    Thanks for your post!

The filter only applies to users who are not logged in. Once you are logged in, you will see the chapters as they were written.

I will think about whether it makes sense to change the filter for guests.

Agreed! I generally avoid linking to my chyoa stories anymore for just this issue. I like the idea of black bars over the filtered words to show that the work has been censored. Simply removing words with no indication reflects poorly on the work and the author. With the black bars at least then readers will know the text has been changed and it might even encourage them to create an account.

    Thanks for the valuable feedback!

I changed it so that now asterisks are displayed instead of the words.
