I have been meaning to do a Game of Thrones story and I was wondering which timeline to do. There's the original timeline in which the story takes place, which I assume most people would read. But there are two main timelines that I'm tempted as well. First is some 20 years before the main story starts. That would feature characters like a young Cersei Lannister, Catelyn and Lysa Tully as well as Rhaella Targaryan ( Danny's mom), Ellia Martell and Ashara Dayne. Or a story far earlier in the timeline, about 300 years before the story begins. This would feature Rhaenys and Visenya ( Aegon the conqueror's sister wives), Argella Durrandon (only child of the last storm king), Sharra Arryn (queen regent of the veil) and the heiress of Dorne. So would a casual reader be interested in the main timeline, or would you guys be interested in another timeline that I mentioned?
Depending on what "young" means (some GoT characters are canonically underage), you might need to age up the characters in your version.
Yeah when I mentioned a young Cersei and the rest, they were about 17, so they can be easily aged up without disrupting the timeline
If it's the TV show timeline then an age-up won't be required because they were already adults during the war. It was only in the book when they were teenagers/young adults.
Only the harcore fans would probably be interested in characters nevers seen and barely mentioned. The casual readers, will be actually casual watchers in most cases, they watched the show, they'll come looking for the main characters. You may be interested in this
