Hello Everyone, I have some general questions that I didn't find specific answers for in the rules so here goes: -Is it possible for me to finish a bigger part of the story before going online but giong through the review nonetheless to avoid wasting time? -It is stated that I shouldn't in any manner advertize my work, but what If I am willing to write a different story path if anyone would like to read so? Can I let's say post a patreon link or would it violate the rules? -Short chapters, in my understanding should be avoided. However, to maximize the interactive effect, what if one or two lines of dialogue would actually lead to a different ending?
Not sure what you're exactly trying to achieve. You can work on your story while you keep it in draft mode. (Obviously, you can also add chapters after you published the story.) You can also work on your story while the story is in review. (When a story gets approved, all current chapters become public.) As long as you don't use CHYOA mainly to advertise paid content on other websites, I don't see a problem. Many authors post Patreon links. That's fine. The rules just ask that there is a minimum amount of storytelling at the beginning of the story before it gets approved. Some readers might dislike short chapters. Others prefer shorter chapters. (Though rather more than two lines.) If a chapter needs to be that short to tell the story right, go for it!
